27 Cannot even rate 1 star (edit, had to mark a star so this review could be posted).
Despite being able to select 4.am check in, by 5.30 had still not been able to check in. Left in disgust about not being able to break the journey with much needed sleep. Got about 40 minutes nap in my Ute before driving on a further two hours absolutely dog tired.
Upset at numerous spam SMS asking for a review. If they continue I will not stay with you again.
The motel may look old and unloved on the outside, but the rooms are large and comfortable.
It is certainly good value for money, especially compared to rip-off prices charged for cabins at caravan parks.
Firstly the impersonal checkin / greeting of a person on a screen is beyond poor.
Unkept unclean front foyer to add to unsatisfactory first impression. Only then to find that point of contact on screen in foyer is actually in the Philippines.
Then to find bathroom with no working light and air conditioning with obvious damage and filter completely blocked with dust. The over all state of entire facility is sub par poorly maintained.
Don’t stay there no support care whatsoever for local community. Under the main jetty with a blanket will be more pleasant
Showers have mold right next to the highway road trains all day all night noisey as. And the stupid video reception, worst idea on the planet so annoying to deal with terrible communication with the receptionist on the TV
Reception on screen TV from who knows where and who really doesn't care.door codes fail till you get a room that works. That's it. Enjoy.
Two attempts to book. Neither successfully. Charged twice.
One attempt via Airbnb, the other directly via phone.
Both times the dates were available, up to the point where my card was charged for the accomodation. Only after the payment was made was I told the rooms were not available. Whilst it could be forgiven in the first instance via Airbnb (these things happen sometimes), to happen a second time whilst speaking to the reception person over the phone was unacceptable. Surely a system exists where availability of accomodation is confirmed before the customer is charged. Unacceptable.
A simple, small room that was clean, had REALLY hot water for the shower and amazing water pressure! I would absolutely book again.
This was a pretty good place to stop. The bed was comfortable and the facilities modern and clean. Good value.
Bathroom 10/10 no complaints.
Bed 3/10 hard as a rock, need 3 pillows stacked to make a normal sized pillow.
Air con 5/10 for an ancient piece of tech it did the job this time, if the weather were any hotter tho this thing wouldn't make the cut.
Kitchen 0/10 can't find it anywhere, the floorplan doesn't show a kitchen yet we have a code for the kitchen. WiFi 0/10 we get a password for a WiFi that doesn't exist.
Price 3/10 there were other options for the same or similar price that would have been better.
The room is clean but the smell is suffocating, kept me sneezing, it’s the strong smell of the fabric conditioner. Not really a good stay because i wasn’t able to sleep well due to the smell. I will not book here again.
I love a clean and quiet and neat and economical motel room and I got all of those qualities at the Whyalla Country Inn. Plus, a decent table for meals or work, plenty of power points, park out the front, self check in, very clean rooms. Also, I was pleasantly appreciative of the nice styling - black sheets and towels, and small soaps etc without being wasteful, and comfortable pillows. I stayed in room 9, quiet except a little road noise. Would stay again.
Spent nearly 3 weeks here for work, staff where friendly and very helpful, especially the cleaning lady and the cleaniness of the room and the facilities was excellent, highly recommanded
Stayed there for about 3weeks, location of the motel to price is perfect very good location with a walking distance to almost all you need. Staff is very very friendly and considerate they would come to check daily for everything, very comparative and most of all definitely made it a fun working trip for our team.
The stay was good, however the wifi was disappointing only getting 1000MB per code, no point bringing my laptop for streaming. However the room was tidy and modern and I appreciated the fact I had a microwave available.
Mould in shower, couldn't turn outside light off, dvd player didn't work, others guests arguing/swearing all night, shared kitchen where other guests left a hell of a mess. No reception on site, only a TV and camera for no contact service and didn't assist with issues. Never going back. Try the sundown motel & cabin park!
Absolutely a waste of money for what the facilities are and offer. Virtual reception makes experience clinical and cold. Tell you of the no refund policy after they have taken your payment details so is to late to cancel transaction. A/C are antiquated and very noisy plus ineffective in one of the rooms we in the apartment. This is clearly a money making cash cow for the owners with no regard for modernisation and improving facilities to today's standards.
Will never stay there again or recommend.
We stayed a couple nights, reasonable price, clean tidy, and the cleaners were very helpful showing us the kitchen which we had forgotten about thanks girls:)
The rooms are habitable. They have a shared kitchen for the whole motel which is quite nice. One drawback is that there aren't a lot of wall outlets available and the one's that are available aren't really in the most ideal spot. However the owner is very nice and friendly. It's a decent place to stay if you are traveling for work
