White Houseboats

We just finished a week on Whitewater houseboat over Xmas. Brendan and Madeleine were excellent to deal with and their communication made for an easy booking. Murray was easy going and very informative on all things driving and mooring the houseboat. We had 2 families with 4 teenagers between us, so this boat was a great size. The 4 ensuites were a definite drawcard for us. The kitchen was well equipped with quality knives, scan pans and everything you might need and then some. We headed upstream from Mannum, and whilst the Xmas weather was not great, the huge spa on the top deck was our saviour. It was always warm enough, plus the added benefit you could set the temperature yourself. The teenagers loved it. Would have loved a balmy night to enjoy the upstairs bar, which was also well equipped. We towed our ski boat alongside, there’s also a great swim deck off the back. 8 people, Booked a long weekend away on Whitewater.
Having been on this boat before we knew it would be a treat.
Murray took us out of the marina to instruct us on how to drive the boat.
This turned in to a taumatic 'test'! I have driven and parked 5 houseboats in the past with no issues!
Making me park it 3 times and firing instructions from behind me making me extremely anxious.
After 3 attempts he advised "this is not working, who else wants to try"?
My friend stepped up. He has a boat license.
He also Instructed him 3 times to park the boat.
Murray then stated " this is not working. This boat is not safe in your hands" and proceeded to take the keys away and stop us from moving the boat.
We were stuck in one place for 3 nights.
I only have given 2 stars for the lovely boat. Not for the customer service.
I would not use this company unless you're willing to take a traumatic parking test.
$3200. To stay in one spot.not happy!

Fabulous week on the Murray with Whitewater Houseboats. Boat was great and Brendan and Murray wonderful to deal with. Brendan picked us up from and dropped us back to the airport and arranged visit one of the days to Henschke and Barossa for lunch. Highly recommend.

It was our first time hiring a house boat. Upon arriving at the marina we were greeted by Brendan. We boarded the beautiful Dreamweaver. Murray was very informative. He went through everything we needed to know on how to drive and moor the houseboat safely. Its was just stunning, cruising up the Murray. Very relaxing, chilling in the spa, the kids kayaking on the river. It made it the perfect getaway for the weekend. We will definitely be back. Thank you Brendan & Madeline

My family and I hired Absolute Bliss from White Houseboats for a week in late September 2022. We had an absolutely amazing time and can wholeheartedly recommend the experience to anyone thinking of exploring the Murray River by houseboat. Brendan and Madeleine are very helpful and friendly hosts which made planning for the trip a breeze. Brendan picked us up in Adelaide and transported us to Mannum via a supermarket stop for provisions which was very convenient, definitely recommended and good value compared with trying to do the road trip by taxi or rental car. This was our first houseboat experience and it definitely exceeded our expectations. Absolute Bliss was very well appointed with all the modern conveniences and comfort features you could wish for. Our hire commenced and finished at Mannum Waters Marina where White Houseboats are based and during the week we made it as far upstream as Swan Reach. This section of the Murray River turned out to be a fantastic choice for house boating, the scenery is spectacular and we really enjoyed the plentiful wildlife. We also found it easy to plan our time and very relaxing with just a few hours of motoring each day and then finding a nice river bank spot to moor for the night. Awesome holiday, we’ll be back! We took my Parents (aged 87 and 92) for a week's holiday on Dream Weaver in Oct 2022. What an immaculate, well serviced, spacious and well appointed houseboat. We've been on a few houseboat holidays but this was truly luxurious! Brendan, Madeleine, Murray and the fabulous cleaning crew were outstanding. Will definitely book again next year.

We had a marvellous week on the Dream Weaver in. Mid April 2022. Sensational fun. Brendan and Madelaine are incredible with their customer service, the staff are friendly and helpful, the boats are beautifully presented and the stretch of water we got to explore was incredible. A wonderful family holiday shared with great friends

Will be booking an Air BnB on the River next time. Boat was tired and had mechanical issues. We spent half of our three night trip dealing with mechanical and water pump issues. Disappointing given the costs of hire.

From the initial enquiry and booking of Absolute Bliss through to finally reluctantly stepping off the boat at the end of our cruise we have nothing but praise. The boat was easy to drive, well supplied and spacious. We would highly recommend the boat and the owners of the business.

Overall it was a very disappointing experience that my friends and I had using this company.

When we first were looking to book the houseboat the experience was great, communication was awesome and everything seemed very easy (I guess they wanted the deposit).

On the first night we had no hot water for showers (only to find out later that the hot water system wasn't turned on at the power.explained that the cleaner must have forgotten to turn it on (makes me think a final walkthrough and check of the boat didn't happen).

We set off on the next morning, two hours into the drive one of the engines was overheating and the battery light was flashing. Long story short, 4 hours later, docked in another marina.half of the issue was fixed and we were given a spare battery to restart the boat over the next two days because the alternator blew up and it was unable to be fixed or replaced. This in-turn left us with no conference to go much further on the boat which was really disappointing. The mechanic also said that the water pump didn't look in the best shape. (FYI the mechanic was fantastic, better communication than the actual manager).

Sure enough later that night we were gathering water from the river to put into the toilets to flush them. The next morning we were directed to call the mechanic who gave us a fix on the water pump issue over the phone which involved a few step process (which needed to be done another 2 times during out journey to have showers and wash plates)

Other little things, the TV in the front of the boat was not working and had a faulty aerial plug, the door leading into one of the bedrooms is on the way out, things from a 5 star boat which isn't exactly cheap, you would expect to be perfect.

Highlights would be the kitchen area (I thought was good and well stocked of everything you need to cook etc, with a good fridge and dishwasher) and the spa which was also in good shape.

The manager was, if I'm honest less than empathetic about our experience (sure things like that happen, but having run my own business for 8 years and been in customer service for the past 20 there are ways to relay that message). The early great communication quickly changed once we needed our deposit back.funny that. (oh and it was deposited after the 14 days hold limit.

Hopefully they can sort the issues out, obviously we are some of the unlucky ones, but I can tell you right now I'm personally never hiring another houseboat again, with any company after my experience and your damn lucky I don't run a sponsored post about my experience on my business website which I considered.

Absolutely fantastic time. Very luxurious and the sceneryjust stunning. Brendan went above and beyond, when I left my jacket on the boat he went out of his way to return I to us. If you are advertising a super relaxing holiday highly recommend.

Just had a week on Whitewater, 7 adults in total. Magnificent vessel. Exceeded all our needs and expectations, spa was fantastic. Brendan and Murray were fabulous to deal with. Would do it all again in a heartbeat.

We hired Dreamweaver for a wonderful week that took us from Mannum to Swan Reach and return. Absolutely loved the layout on Dreamweaver; perfect for up to three couples. We liked the open plan so you could see all down one side of the boat from one end to the other. Maddie and Brendan from White Houseboats were incredibly flexible in accommodating a few changes due to personal circumstances; this was greatly appreciated. The staff who did the handover were very professional and we were well equipped to manage the boat once they were done. We also appreciate that they were available on call during our week’s adventure. Thanks White Houseboats for fulfilling a bucket list item, creating wonderful memories and exceeding expectations. We will definitely do this again with you guys; maybe bring the rest of the family next time! Steve and Shelley.

We hired the River Breeze as a party of five (four adults and a Dachshund) over three nights and can highly recommend the experience.
The houseboat itself was very well appointed with everything needed for an enjoyable and comfortable holiday. All furnishings are modern and comfortable with en-suite bathrooms, upper-deck spa bath and satellite television.
The kitchen was fully stocked with every appliance you could possibly need, including a dishwasher.
The staff were very friendly and made sure to give us a great run-through on all of the necessary information to be fully comfortable driving, parking and mooring such a large houseboat.
A great holiday for relaxing and doing things at your own pace.

We hired the Dream Weaver houseboat for a weekend getaway in August and it was very easy to book and pay deposit and bond. Checkin was easy and thankfully was offered a few hours earlier enabling us to get up river before dusk. The houseboat was very easy to manoeuvre and park, the automatic gangplank a great feature while all facilities worked as expected. The spa was well utilised, as was the BBQ and ice box. This is our third trip on houseboats in past 3 years, all with different companies, with White Houseboats being the easiest to deal with and the one with the most manouvreable boat, and only one with automatic gangplank. We would hire this boat and use the company again. Thank you Brendan.

Well provisioned houseboats to hire, probably the best in Mannum. Spending time on the mighty Murray is a beautiful way to holiday and unwind.

Our group of five friends had a fantastic four night cruise up the wonderful Murray River on Whitewater. It was one of our bucket list things to do and it lived up to all our expectations. The boat was amazing, it was fully decked out with everything you would need. We just bought our clothes & food & drinks. This boat had four lovely modern comfortable bedrooms, each with its own en-suite. The boat was very spacious and modern throughout from the kitchen/lounge to the upper deck which had a spa and bar area. It can actually sleep up to twelve guests comfortably as it has two fold out sofa beds at the rear in an area that can be closed with folding doors. I would highly recommend White Houseboats if you are thinking of a riverboat holiday, the service we received from Brendan & Madi was great.

We had a great family weekend cruising the Murray on the Flat White. Very well equipped, maintained and comfortable boat. Andrew and Chris were both very helpful and accommodating. We were just very unlucky with the weather so i guess we need to come back and repeat the experience minus the 50km/h gale winds.

A group of us from New Zealand have had an most enjoyable 10 days on the Whitewater houseboat.
Firstly we have to thank Brendon who helped with the booking, giving us advice and meeting us with his shuttle van at the airport.
He had also advised about Frewville Supermarket. As it was going to be a self catering holiday we planned a menu and pre-ordered the food online. Luckily we purchased enough food! For a small extra charge we stopped at Hansdorf for lunch.
We also have thank Andrew who conducted the familisation. He also stayed on board while we headed a short distance to the Pretoria Hotel where we stayed the night and took the opportunity of having a meal out.it was a long day so was appreciated not having to cook on the first night.
The next morning after we nominated a captain and the crew given a role we cast off without any trouble. Andrew had given us the confidence to manoeuvre this wide, long boat.
We managed to reach Swan Reach at a leisurely pace and treated ourselves for another meal.well deserved!
