West Oak Hotel

I ordered the Vietnamese Salad which consists of rice noodles, fresh herbs, asian salad tossed in sweet chilli, soy dressing and choice of protein which I chose the beef. After waiting so far 45 mins for our food (it was the Thursday before Christmas so I understand) and thinking the beef would come out nicely sliced with the salad I saw one of the waiters coming towards me with one of the salads. He looked at me then my table number and said to me "don't hold your breath mate" and proceeded to the table where it was for. Another 15 minutes went by when my salad was presented to me. It was literally a bowl of rice noodle and a small piece of over cooked beef thrown in a bowl. There was no fresh herbs or asian salad in the dressing. I had some of the beef and a few noodles but could not finish it. I couldn't be bothered even sending it back because they were so busy and i just didn't have time to wait any longer and there was no apology for the wait.

Very disappointed with the beer availability. Closest to anything flavoursome is Pirate Life South Coast. Come on guys! How come a place can put together a wine list with lots of local wineries but the beer list is a joke of large commercial beers? Not even bottles of anything local or craft. Not even pretending to give a toss about beer drinkers who want something other than commercial swill. Oh, and Cooopers doesn't count. It's lazy and dismissive. Be better, guys.

One star for the atmosphere in the outsidr dining area. The meals and service were lacking.

After ordering our meals, the wait staff let us know they didn't have what mum ordered. My mum can't eat certain foods and is vegetarian. So, she opted for the mushroom burger without the bun instead as she has difficulty eating breads. The waiter confirmed this with the chef, no problem.

Some time passes and a waitress comes out to ask for mum's dietary requirements as they'd forgotten. Mum repeats them, and tells her that she had instead ordered a bunless mushroom burger, and the waitress said she would check to see if the chef could do it, and off she went.

We were confused at this point, but okay. The waitress returns after a few minutes to say that the chef didn't want to prepare it, as it would be 'too bland'. She explained that the other waiter was "new and didn't know they wouldn't be able to accommodate" mum's request. With no other suitable vegetarian options, mum had her money refunded instead and didn't have dinner.

Service was pretty poor honestly. The meals were brought out, but we had no cutlery for 5-10 minutes after meals arrived. I ordered a burger without onion. It came with onion. They took it back to remake, after 15 minutes and no food, we cancelled my meal as well and got a refund. The staff didn't display much concern about customer service (except the 'new' waiter, he was actually lovely).

We never got our red wine jus… my wedges bounced around tables before my eyes… why would she go to every table except mine? To taught me? For real though the service is like there’s no supervisor and staff act constantly inconvenienced.
We didn’t get what we payed for and asked several times for it to be amended but we never got the jus.

Thursday schnitty day is hard to beat - $12 bux including a sauce/gravy. And the beef schnitty was so good - great size and the crumb is great - best I have had in a long time. Will definitely be back for another very soon.

Great bite to eat at this cute pub before our concert at Hindley Street Music Hall. We braved the chilly weather to dine in beer garden. Food was fast and great and it was a really good vibe. Cauliflower salad was next level delish! Will definitely dine here again.

Moved back to Adelaide and went out for a drink with one of my mates who had just graduated and had the best night at West Oak and one of the bar guys were one of the best I have met Gabe and he was one of the best bar guys and gave us the best experience, but to make it even better I went out on a Thursday night with some mates and saw him again and gave us and was the best tender.
Will come come back here for the great service

Had a meal at The West Oak Hotel recently and really enjoyed their vegan parmigiana. The taste was on point and the salad that accompanied it was fresh and full of flavor. Good spot for a tasty meal. Will definitely be back.

Usually come here on Friday nights, and it’s very lively and nice. The mandarin cider was amazing! Great place to chill out after work.

To be accessible, they turned down the music in the dining room when we asked nicely. Amazing food and staff and kind to people with accessibility needs? Unreal.

I haven't eaten here but I've heard that the food is good pub food. West Oak is a convenient Hindley Street drinks spot. Last night all the fires were burning which was lovely. Great cocktails and friendly staff. A really nice spot.

Adore this place, campbell, alwx and thomas deliver immaculate service day in day out, would recommend to all people but tbh we wanna gatekeep this magical land as we always need a table xxxx much love guys xxx

Great little pub, good atmosphere. Beer garden and occasional live band (COVID permitting). Friendly staff. Not a huge drink selection, but still some good ones to choose. Have yet to try the food

Friendly staff and a really chill vibe. This Public House was a good place for after work drinks and the outdoor beer garden is wonderfully decorated with good shade

Hi, I will update for you then.
When I was here, there was a single person working, trying to manage taking both food orders and drink orders.
Which lead to a huge wait time, people queued trying to order.
Eventually, another staff member showed up and started helping out.
However we waited about 15 minutes to just be able to order drinks.

Great Beer. Nice variety of brewski's on tap. A little pricey but you get that in such a popular location.

Close to bus stops, plenty to see in the surrounding areas,
Food options are on point.

Def giving me old warm pub vibes.

Missing star for missing door, but revised because they added door and charlie balnavles, Impeccablec service from this chap.

Can not fault this place. Drinks where cheap, staff members were awesome and the selection was amazing.

Had the beef ragu - absolutely amazing. Service was outstanding, will definitely be a returning customer of this fine establishment.
