West Beach Park Bench

The idea for park bench locations being captured from myself started when at the west beach surf club i could see this bench on the adjoing reserve area. The bench was a little worse for ware from all the salt air, but the views. Then i thought about all those other secret locations with benchs that offer views or a unique ambiance.

Well with the work done to install the sand transfer pipes the bench is now gone.

Unlikely to return as the surf club upgrade is soon to occurr.

So this post is the memorial to this bench that is no longer a feature of the Adelaide beaches and all the fish chips shared upon it.

Tone

I went to use this bench with high expectations based on previous reviews and personal recommendations. At the end of a comprehensive 10 hour, multi-positional sit test, however, there were a few issues worth sharing. The bench is not well sheltered and I was exposed to strong sea breezes which negatively impacted my overall experience. This could potentially be solved by a Perspex wall, anchored in front of the bench and framed by LED chaser lights for effect. Although my test was performed in winter, I did get quite cold, particularly during the early hours of the morning. A warm air vent below the bench, and/or a heating element with thermostat control build into the seat itself, would mitigate this flaw. Finally, the bench should be reclining and have bluetooth surround sound speakers.

Well constructed, great use of sturdy materials, angle of incline is just right and bench is well mounted to the ground surface.
Really all you could want out of any bench experience and in terms of reliability and overall experience, very hard to beat.
