Weigall Oval Reserve reviews
38Lovely atmosphere nice looking grass, lots of activity for kids to do, barbecue for family, tennis court, long walk and cycling track.
A very good public area. Tennis courts, basketball courts, playgrounds for children. Currently the oval itself is a construction site.
BBQ facilities very poorly maintained. BBQ plate fat drain attracting European wasps.
Council have failed to empty it and it’s overflowing.
Nicely upgraded children park with flying fox and some other equipments, good toilet facility and lovely tennis courts shared with couple of basket ball rings too.
Nice to go for walking, riding scooters, play with children and free night lights for courts too till 10pm I guess.
Three tennis courts, 2 basketball rings, playgrounds for children nearby, cutting edge toilet, free entry what else could you possibly ask?
Open space park set off the road. Flying fox and other equipment enjoyed by the kids. Paths were popular for kids on balance bikes
Typical council closing down something that's historical. Trots were a family thing for my grandfather and his father for years. Lost my respect and my spending within your area. Minus 1 star. I feel for the members not able to continue the use of these facilities.
Great facilities for everyone, however there should be kid safe fencing installed. There area is too open which poses a risk to our kids.
Good fun, wide range of things to-do for the little kids (2+) and big kids. Only thing missing is maybe some shade.
We love the new play space, can barely recognise since it has been upgraded. Can't wait for trees to grow and provide some shade over the play ground. Pity the beautiful mature trees needed to be removed to make way for the redevelopment. But it's a really nice play ground, sport and grass area. Have a hit of a tennis ball on the courts or shoot some hoops. Bring your dog to stretch it's legs on the oval. Great space for all.
Kids had lots of fun. There are actually 2 playgrounds. There is also plenty of seating. One has a flying fox and barbecue facilities and a fully automated public toilet.
Beautiful park with well maintained facilities and lots of parking on the perimeter. Tennis courts are free to use and in great condition. I'd recommend the park for a group /family get together with plenty of trees for shade and lawned areas to sit and relax.
Beautiful spot and plenty for the kids to do. Wish there were more than two swings for such a large play area!
It has not have children play area only for sports people, council must include more swing and slides.
Brand New playground nearer to Birdwood TCE.
Well done, a great space for community to gather and kids loved new playground, bike track and sandy water way.
Need more bins and more bbq spots.
Could have done with mobile coffee truck
The playground is shaded and has trees and shrubs kids love to climb and explore, and is fully fenced and gated. The oval is not safe for kids to play due to a minority of irresponsible dog owners who do not have effective control of their dogs. We have witnessed several savage dog fights on this oval. Sadly the early morning trotting horses, a favourite with kids, are being eliminated from the oval due to a local council decision.
This oval allows for trotting horses to train, baseball and soccer and its looked after really well. Council is looking to upgrade the park.
Lovely oval, where you can watch the horses going around in the morning. Unfortunately, this is all about to change as Council is bowing to the demands of soccer and baseball players. The trotting track will no longer exist and the huge gum tree will all be demolished. This oval was bequeathed to the Council on the proviso that the horses would always be able to use it. Shame on the Council - this new development will ruin the area.
