Loved it, great views in four directions of Port Augusta, climb the four flights of stairs and enjoy the views. Next to a park with a good playground and heaps of space for kids to run around. The park also has toilets.

Has some good views but in need of maintenance to rate it a 5. Surrounding trees too tall, graffiti.

Some informational plaques would be useful.

A short climb to great views.
It is interesting to see how they used to build steel structures with rivets.

Nice spot for a view of the gulf, playground and bbq facilities, as well as clean toilets.

It is really the former water tower! Very high! Don't go up if you are scared! But the scenery is great

Short drive and climbed tower to see Port Augusta and surrounds. Steep climb narrow steps so go slowly if your a bit older but I'm not good with heights. So beautiful to look over the area and the hills in distance in the direction to Ceduna.

We have always wanted to stop here and have a look. Glad we did it this time, the view from the top was awesome. The water tower is a nice place to stop of and have a look around.

Great little spot near the park, some trees blocking the view but overall worth the quick stop and step count

Bit of a hair-raising climb as you can see through the stairs, but one feels secure upon reaching the enclosed top and the panoramic views are worth it. Lovely well-tended garden beneath, with a sturdy pine leaning over because of the strong desert winds. Some gross graffiti, which is to be expected from bored youth. Street parking available nearby. There is a park across the road.

This lookout offers awesome views of port augusta and beyond. There aren't many stairs, but they are steep at times and a little inconsistent in size. It was a little hairy at times walking up them with my 2 year old.

We liked the water tower more than we expected. It would be a nice place to stop and have a picnic. Theres a little playground across the road and a reserve with open space to run around and stretch your legs. I recommend trying to get there close to sunset when the colours in the sky are working their magic. Nice view of the water and the mountains. Its also a good way to increase your step count The steps have gaps in the metal, so you can see the ground beneath you which may be frightening or disorienting for some.

It's a nice rusty tank has place to sit inside
Graffiti all over
Steep steps and rusty has hand rails so not that difficulty to get on top
The view is just ok not an amazing view if you have time to kill it's one of the 3spots to visit in here

Awesome spot to check out the town and take photos, but don’t attempt it if you’re scared of heights.

The view was okay. It is nice to be somewhere high to see the town, but the iron bars did not go well with the sight. The stairs up can be a bit scary if you’re afraid of heights. Pleasant walk around the park.

Tower is situated in a good spot with a good view of the whole town. We were able to capture a few good photos from the top of the tower.

Gorgeous garden surrounds this little Oasis. The views from the Tower itself are wonderful, this natural ageless Australian junction is somewhat underrated, a trip up the water tower lookout shows a whole perspective of How significant Port Augusta us geographically!

A must visit in Port Augusta. First it's not far from our motel (Discovery Park) and only few steps to get to the top, but you could see the bay, the mountain, the bridge, and a great place to see sunset from the top.

76 steps of effort (I counted it, see if you agree),
no small amount of satisfaction. View and perspective worth it. Plus the stone plaque at front of water tower (without water, mind) tells why tower was built in the first place - to help with local unemployment - and there's also a Rotary plaque at back which really makes you think about what you say.
