Wallaroo Heritage and Nautical Museum reviews
32Great bakery near the wharf and a top museum of nautical, mining and farm country living of yesterday years.
Lots of interesting information on old Wallaroo, too much to take in and will require another visit.
Fantastic displays, great information about Wallaroo history. Staff extremely helpful and friendly.
Well worth the $6 entry. Loads to look at and read about. Very friendly helpful guy at the front desk.
Genuine display of historical artifacts local to the area and great storytelling.
Welcoming staff.
Worth more than one visit.
$6 for adults, $3 for under 15s and free under 5 yrsold. It's a beautiful older museum, with alot of WWI&II related items, mining and shipping history. Interesting photos and memorabilia that capture culture and life for South Australians over the last 200 years. Didn't expect much, however spent well over an hour exploring and could've spent longer.
Amazing collection of local history. A must see, but allow plenty of time (or make more visits). Don't miss!

Great display of historical stuffs of Wallaroo and it's neighborhood. South Australian railway clocks are among those great collections. Staffs are very helpful tk share knowledge.
Interesting museum with plenty of history on showcase, staff have a lot of knowledge of what's on display. The lighthose outside of the museum is the Tipara Lighthouse, which has been there since 1995. In 1887 the lighthouse was standing 15 kilometers off the shore of Moonta Bay and about 30 meters above sea level.
What a wonderful place to visit and explore the history of Wallaroo & surrounds. There is so much memorabilia on display and well cared for by the volunteers.
Well worth the nominal entrance fee.
From outside it didn't look very big
However we were very surprised just how large it was, it took us over an hour & a half to see everything,
Well worth a look,
don't forget your camera
Great historical place to visit with a lot of history and a useful place for a Children's University activity.
Great museum loads of info/displays/videos on the history of the area with friendly knowledgeable staff
Very unique collection of local history, one can easily spend few hours here Very informative for children.
Amazing museum. Highly recommend visiting. So much to see. Mark and Bob very friendly informative and welcoming. Loved our visit.
A great experience to view a great collection of life in the old days and great assistance from the helpful volunteers.
Where did all of this stuff come from. This museum is so much bigger and better than you will think possible. If you have any interest in this style of museum plan on spending at least a few hours. The even better thing is apparently if you need it, you can come back the next day and show you tickets. This place is amazing, take a squizz and enjoy.
A wonderful little small town museum, full of interesting bits of artefacts, memorabilia and models. Definitely worth a stop off. Bit of a pity that George the giant squid isn't in good shape any more, but still enjoyed the walk through.
