Waikerie curry house reviews
10The items had pretty names but the taste was not up to the mark. We ordered chicken and goat items, but the chicken was like rubber and tawa goat was smelly. Not happy at all with the food.
Ordered butter chicken, veg korma, rice and naan. All was very delicious and ready for pick up at the time specified.
Samosa old and gave me upset stomach. Did not eat all but heavily salted, dubious, and regret eating any. Lived in India for 3yrs, not a first-timer. Tandoor Platter well cooked, again not Tandoori Oven but didn't expect it for small business on short notice. Good Veg Curry. I like Indian food and understand hard for her to say no when l request Samosa but wish she had. Putting extra rice in the order that we did not ask for or eat, was, in hindsight, a guilty conscience for old Samosa. IMHO
I asked if it was breast meat the woman said yes it’s all thigh and neither of us eat thigh fillets. Sauce and rice was nice though
They seemed pretty keen to get rid of me. Gave me no option to dine in, and when I took my bag home and opened it up, they forgot about my mango lassi.
They still get a 3 because the food was nice at least.
Friendly staff and great food! The dishes are a very good size and a good ratio of sauces/meats in each
Had excellent take-away curry; would recommend if you're in the Riverland and want quality Indian food. Clean and modern inside with great service.
Having ordered 2 Tandoori items (King prawns & naan), neither was cooked in a tandoor oven and there is nothing 'king' size about the prawns. Vegetable korma has nice flavour.
Can only comment on the meal we had, chicken jalfrezi and garlic naan, but it was very good.
The downside is the forced inclusion and purchase of rice with all curries. This seems to be a growing trend, and we don't like it.
Staying in Waikerie for a few days, decided to try takeaway here. Really tasty meal, lovely sauces. Actually, probably the best Indian we've had in a long time! Especially loved the Chickpea Channa and Amritsari Kulcha, and the really nice homemade cottage cheese in Shahi Paneer. Also, generous serves of Bhaji & Pakora. Inside is basic but spacious, & seating has really good Covid-spacing. Would definitely come again (suggest check opening hours, appear to currently be 7 days, 4.30pm to 9pm)
