My year 9 students engaged with the Virtual War Memorial as part of their entries into the Premier's ANZAC Spirit School Prize. Once my students found the sources and started piecing together the stories of the soldiers, they found it engaging and rewarding. Kate, the manager of the schools program, was super responsive and helpful whenever I had questions throughout the task. She even came to our school to support multiple classrooms with their navigation of the relevant databases!
