Viewpoint Cafe

Hungry travellers, looking for take away Waikerie 8.30pm on a Friday night. Tried to order a pizza at Newland Bakery, their kitchen closed early so they said to call Viewpoint. Called Viewpoint to order burgers at 8.45ish. Was told there were no burgers available but we could get snitzel burgers and chips. Ordered 5 to feed the group. Arrived to pick up to be told kitchen closed, no food, had to order before 9pm. Tried to explain we’d called ahead to order. Girl serving was very rude and clearly wanted no part of us being there. What on earth has happened to this place. As regular travellers to and through Waikerie Viewpoint has always been our ‘go to’ stop for fuel, food, coffee etc. They used to have such lovely staff and great service. Very disappointed.

Overall a huge waste of time waited over 30mins for my food.definitely not coming back nearly $20 for a bit of processed chicken that that tasted like absolute garbage do t bother coming here when you can cook something better at home for around $30

After waiting an hour when we're the only ones in here to get frozen processed fish, chips cooked in old oil and lettuce for salad. Absolutely disgusting food, service and premises were filthy. Would recommend to stay away!

Lovely relaxed Cafe with views of the river. Helpful and friendly staff and delicious food.

Great food with amazing view. Had to wait a while for the food, but it was worth it. Also the staffs were very friendly.

As a regular customer I get a coffee every morning before work and the friendly staff have it ready for me on arrival ️

Also when ever I dine in the food is good and filling and it's a great place to catch up with friends and family sitting on the deck and enjoying the view.

Overall friendly and helpful staff and good food with fair prices

Great view from the back deck. Service was less than average and the food was over cooked in the fryer. Value for money was ok in terms of price and portion size. I would stop there if hungry while driving past but that would be all.

Fantastic views from outside. Terrible food with toast that was so dry it disintegrated if you tried to cut it. Next to it was dry crumbly things that were apparently scrambled eggs. Worst ever.

Best coffee in the area, decent Cafe food at reasonable price, great river views from the outdoor tables.

Expensive and below average food. Ordered a large flathead fish and chips and it came with 3 little bits of fish, chips were dry and unsalted. Salad is very average. Definitely won't go here again.

Went here for breakfast this morning, got a bacon and egg wrap with avocado that was so nicely done that I felt obliged to write about it. The fried eggs were the perfect level of slightly runny, enough to feel refreshing but not enough to flow out of the wrap and make eating it messy. Must be a real talent in the kitchen to hit that sweet spot. Flat white was easy drinking and the view is lovely.

This was the worst cafe i’ve ever been to! The donuts were cold and hard, it didn’t even taste like bread. The thick shakes were solid and undrinkable and when asked to mix it a bit more they sarcastically retaliated and didn’t. The customer service SUCKS!

Great food, helpful no fuss fix to us ordering the wrong drinks, big breakfast was fantastic, really good bacon, eggs cooked runny to order. Great burgers and a view you just don’t expect. Helpful pleasant staff in such a busy establishment.

Lovely view out on verandah.had coffee bacon egg sandwich, small chips.all ok except you put some burnt overcooked old chips in with good chips (you should just thrown em out) which i threw out.

Late night stop to break the journey grab a eazy meal being night means the view was not visible but the high vantage points on top of the clif overlooking the mighty Murray River have to stop in daylight next time

What fabulous view of the river. Our breakfast was very well presented and delicious. Would have been great if they did poached eggs but the fried ones were tasty and spot on. Staff were friendly.

Ok we went there for the coffee. Then saw the sweet cakes and could not resist which proved to be a good thing. Vanilla slice anyone? Really nice and I had my fave, a finger bun and it to was very good.
Then there is the view. Wow, fantastic. So good that you could sit there all day.

Lovely view while having our coffee and brunch. Great value for money. Staff where wonderful even though it was really busy.

Excellent choices & excellent views. Inside & out side dining. Take away or dine in. Toilets for customers too.
