Victoria Park / Pakapakanthi (Park 16) reviews
22It's a great park, but it's just a shame that so much of it is inaccessible due to the car race
Great place to ride away from traffic. Awesome location for Pedal Prix and road bike racing.
This sprawling open parklands has walking, biking, roller skating, dog walking, sports fields and occasionally major events there.
Parking is relatively easy unless there is an event but you can park on either of four sides and more.
Several cafes with excellent facilities are on site including the heritage Grand Stand Precinct with the Velo-Precinct with its indoor child play cafe and gym.
Sitting on the Grandstand is a great way to view the parks or get some exercise on the stairs with an interesting historical angle with this being the stand used during the horse racing era there.
All of the Parklands surrounding Adelaide are connected with the bike path and general trails so this is a super spot to base yourself for a cycling experience and some exercise.
We visited today to walk around the newly opened wetlands. What a great space. Accessible with good paths, lots of space and once the plants grow it will be amazing.
Unable to book on line an appointment screen tell us there was appointments but we couldn't book them advised staff they didn't care
Waited over 5 hrs didn't move much so we left what a joke!
Went last Thursday night took about 2 hours
They were very busy and got result Friday
Negative you ripper. Personal working there
do great job
Great for walking, cycling, flying model aircraft, sports etc complete with a cafe in bottom of the old grandstand
This is a drive thru for covid testing.
Thorough and professional with results within 24 hours
Excellent health
What a beautiful park. Nice breeding ground for Mozzies. So, I guess there won't be anymore Clipsal venues happening there anymore. The whingers will be happy once again. Definitely need a lot more shade though, but not too close to the lakes. Maybe throw a few breeds of fish in there, in the hope the water doesn't become stagnated, but not European Carp. I suppose there will be a mad rush for some shade, when the weather heats up?
Excellent 24/7 drive through PCR COVID-19 testing center. However the booking is pointless. There is no benefit. The booking and non booking cars go through the exact same lines!
We visited for a Covid test. It was extremely well organised. We had booked online. They only take booked appts at this site. Testing was really good and quite quick whilst we were there.
Thousands of cockatoo at one time. Very noisy but beautiful. If you want to watch beautiful cockatoo this is the place to be.
Needs more organisation. Says you need appointments, but lots don't. They should make a lane for appointments single people then families.
I go here every 2 days for a Covid test due to my work, the staff doing the tests do an excellent job
Great park for everything from a gentle walk, to running, bike riding, fitness training and it even has a Cafe in the NE corner. It is also currently Adelaide's primary Covid PCR testing site. Check various Web sites for test queue times and be kind to the health staff.
Well we won the jackpot this day. Joined the queue first covid testing around 6.30am. At 7.15am got to the sign that says '1 hour wait from this point'. Got ready to settle in and then the security guy points to us and waves us through to an empty lane! We felt very guilty about passing two other lanes of at least 20 cars in each but grateful we got in and out in a reasonable amount of time. Thank you to all the workers there.
Went for my covid test it took 5 hrs understandably, the staff were very friendly and organised and having toilets available was appreciated thankyou.
We have been there for Covid testing. Waited for 3 hours in queue. But if you got the booking then it will only take 30 min. People are soo kind and good people. They are doing their job best.
The new wetlands area under construction at the moment will be something else that will beautify and add to our parklands
