VDR on the Parade reviews
17I recently had a crispy pork bahn mi which was good. Disappointed though to turn up last night and it was closed l, despite the hours being listed on the door and advertised on line as open to 7: 30pm, particularly as I had walked there specifically.
I had a pork bun bowl and viet iced coffee here for the first time today. And everything was really yummy but I will say it is quite over priced for the size of the meals. $15 for a small bun bowl and $7 for small iced coffee is a bit much
Super friendly staff, great food presentation and beautiful shop.
The Banh mi wasn’t bad but it wasn’t the tastiest I’ve had
This is my favourite place for Vietnamese rolls in all of Adelaide, the staff are all so nice and friendly. Would strongly recommend as you will walk out with a smile on your face and a incredible feed.
I ordered the salt & pepper tofu rice bowl. Not the best nor was it the worst. The tofu was microwaved to an inch of it's life and the rice/salad was bland but fresh. I wanted tea and the only option was lemongrass (not a deal breaker). Atmosphere was ok but if a nice day, better to grab n go! Service pleasant!
Been this place a few times for lunch been working across the road, all ways friendly and happy and the food is great
Keep up the good work
In my search for the best Bhan Mi in Adelaide (at least most of Adelaide), I am on a mission to try as many as I can over the coming months (as I have been doing) and add my opinion to the list - Today VDR
Being a more than a Bahn Mi outlet there is adequate seating both inside and out so a big plus here. The staff are friendly and welcoming, also a big plus. Drinks range are a little limited and to be honest a tad dear.
I am comparing combination Bahn Mi so will stick to that:
Not the cheapest I've had but the fillings are very generous so not concerned, as there is definite value. The roll (also important) is not the best I have had but certainly on par with most, is reasonably crisp outside and soft inside, perhaps just a little heavier than other I have enjoyed. A good balance of meats (perhaps a little light of the crackling on this occasion) loads of pickled carrot, cucumber the expected inclusions and a few other additions, chilie (I like a good hit and got that) and corriander.
Would I return? Most definitley - are these the best? No but do not dissapoint
I can whole heartily say this place has got to be in the contention for the best Vietnamese rolls in Adelaide, if not Australia.
The beautiful interior is eye catching, As it has stunning paintings on the walls that when you first walk in, just a wave of calmness fills the body.
The shop is brilliantly run by 3 great blokes who use to own a smaller shop but have may the small move into a good decision.
The quality is top tier, i always mix it up with either a classic rice bowl with chicken or a bah mi with crunchy pork and a hint of chilli to get the sense tingling.
It’s extremely great value for money and would definitely be the talk of the office, if you organised some catering.
Hands down the BEST coffee in Adelaide! Food is incredible and the staff are super friendly and welcoming
Had the salt and pepper tofu Bahn mi. Dry and lacking authentic Vietnamese flavour. Pretty disappointing: (
High quality food and high quality staff. Everything is so delicious and the staff are extremely friendly and welcoming. A Bahn Mi from here always makes my day.
Best crackling in town, coffee is surprisingly good. Staff are all polite. Can’t go wrong here.
Food is amazing, coffee is amazing and Reece is amazing as heck! Super friendly every time I’ve been.
So good to have a roll again from VDR, its been forever… as always, great staff, amazing portion and great price. Had to have a couple bites before taking photo:) (also fun when you hear the workers sing a little ;)
Fantastic friendly service with delicious food at reasonable prices. What's not to love:)
It’s hard to find good Vietnamese food in the eastern suburbs, but without a doubt, these guys do the best Banh Mi and Bun Bowls! So fresh and delicious, and surprisingly, today I experienced the BEST coffee! The best in Adelaide. Go check it out!
