Unfortunately a horrible experience booking with Urth clay. Asked for a reschedule session 4 days prior to my GROUP pottery wheel class due to a broken finger injury.

Lost all my money for 2 tickets and was refused a receipt or gift card.

Was even encouraged to still do the class injured despite sending medical certificates etc

Not personal or friendly service just care about making money and no care for their customer service.

Very disappointing customer service. The only priority is making money and not with customer service. I fractured my finger 4 days prior to the group pottery wheel class. Was refused any sort of rescheduling or gift certificate, even with a medical certificate. Lost nearly $300 when I was physically unable to participate in the class. While I totally understand cancellations, being frustrating for small businesses, you would think that some circumstances businesses were lenient or had some compassion.

The most disappointing part is that the customer service encouraged me to come and participate and in the class, ignoring my injury.

Despite sending medical certificates, emailing and calling was just replied to with an automated email, showing a lack of customer care and felt like I was communicating with robots the entire experience.

I really enjoyed the sessions - it was a great and fun learning experience.
However, I did not enjoy having someone reaching over me to collect their pottery while I was at a session on the wheel.
People need to be more aware of working around session times to collect their work.

My 3rd course I wasn’t comfortable joining others that had started another course. Teacher was lovely but had to do other work on the day unloading kiln etc. Enjoyed the pottery though process is better each time

We had very laid back and enjoyable time. There was plenty of instruction and assistance as needed. I'm excited to see my items once they have been fired. Thank you Urth Clay Studio!

I had a fabulous day. Talisha is a calm experienced tutor who took us through our first steps clearly and without judgement. All round it was a very positive experience and I even made some new friends.

Great experience had by my daughter and I. She's so taken with Urth that she's now doing a term class thank you! Can't wait to pick up our pieces!

Great atmosphere, spacious beautiful loft with green area outside, lovely place, enjoyed a lot, I've there few times with my husband, brought friends and coming back again ️

If I could give a 0 I would. One of our group members tested positive for covid the morning of our booking. I tried to call so I could speak to someone, couldn’t speak to an actual person. I quickly emailed them asking for a reschedule NOT a refund. As I purchased this as a gift for the 3 of us we wanted to go together. I understand it’s frustrating last minute reschedules, but life happens. I personally work in an appointment based industry and I’ll always allow a booking to continue over if rescheduling is needed. Being told I needed to give them 4 days notice is ridiculous when at 4 days prior we were all still going. Times are tough yes, Covid hit us all hard the last 2 years. But this is no way to run a business. I’m more than happy to post photos of emails

I spent 6 awesome, knowledge-filled, relaxing hours at Urth Clay Stuido in Burnside where our instructor, Leah, taught us how to craft something using our hands and then how to throw on the wheel. Leah was an incredible instructor, happy to answer any questions and spent a perfect amount of time checking in with everyone’s visions and their creations. The studio itself was tranquil and a true creative space where you were encouraged by your surroundings to let your mind be free.
I will absolutely be returning to Urth with bells on!

My son and I really loved our session on Friday night with Syd! So much learning and fun in two hours! She was a ln engaging and very knowledgeable instructor and we were so happy to have made 3 pieces each! Thank you Syd and UrthClay studios! ️

Urth Clay Studio is my new happy place. Their classes gives me a chance to submerge myself in creativity in a beautiful, calming, positive environment with excellent teachers.

BUYER BEWARE! I had a lovely experience during the one class I was able to attend at Burnside. The other class mates & teacher were very encouraging. Unfortunately an ongoing illness which I can’t predict - being unable to attend the rest of my course & dealing with administration has been disappointing. I paid for a 4 Week Short Course. I attended one class. I wasn’t able to attend the rest. I called to let them know but received no response. I emailed once - received an automated reply which is fine as it explained cancellation policies etc. I felt however that I needed to speak to someone as I was dealing with an on going illness & also contracted Covid. I finally received a reply & was told that I could not reschedule my 3 missed classes. I was offered a $50 voucher to use. After spending over $250 - being on a Disability Pension & being told that a partial refund or rescheduling was not possible made me feel like perhaps Urth Studios isn’t really all about mindfulness.

In regards to your reply - you want me to appreciate that you’re a small business that has had set backs - well I am one individual who has suffered set backs - so what does your apology actually mean? I’m still out over $200 - with an offer of a $50 voucher? Doesn’t make sense. It was your decision to go into business - don’t expect empathy from customers who don’t receive what you claim to offer. It goes both ways. I paid the money as was expected - but your business didn’t give me what I paid for. I also offered to send in a Medical Certificate for verification of my cancellation. Also - 1 class out of 4 is not cancelling half way through a course. I will now be taking this complaint to consumer affairs.

My daughter attended her first pottery class and absolutely loved the experience. She learnt so much and had such a great time, she can’t wait to attend another session! Thanks to the amazing tutors for making this such a great experience for her!

At the actual class, it was an okay experience. I have a small issue with my wrist and it was difficult for me to keep it "in the propper placement" I had only moved it slightly to make myself more comfortable. I made the teacher aware of this but EVERY TIME she went past she corrected me and shook her head.

And don't get me started on posting my pottery. I was told this was 100% okay to do and would be sent to me as soon as my pottery was done. I paid extra to have my stuff posted.and it over 2 months later it hasn't happened.

I provided both my home address and PO Box number and was told they got confused between the 2 so they had to cancel the postage until they figured it out. I had CLEARLY explained what both addresses were.

And don't get me started on trying to contact them. It's a painful and tedious task to establish contact. Apparently they are only in office every couple of days.its taken up to 3 weeks for a reply which from looking at other reviews is a good response time. Their phone number is almost impossible to find and once you do find it they NEVER answer or call you back.

Staff are rude and don't particularly want to be there either, just by the way they conduct themselves. They don't greet you when you walk in, and have you feel like they have better things to do than run a class

I will NEVER be recommending this place again and will NEVER be returning myself
