Uniting Communities Law Centre reviews
13Needed help with child support, They were amazing, very helpful, very friendly, made me feel very comfortable, highly recomended, Thank you.
I called the centre and left a two sentence description of my complicated problem with the receptionist with my full name. The lawyer Mark had been given this before he called me. When he called me, he just talked on and on, but the situation was much more complicated than the information I had left and I needed to tell him the details. He would not listen to a word I said and talked over me in a loud aggressive voice. It got to the point that I had to say something to him about this, telling him he wouldn't listen to me etc. He didn't like this at all and got even louder and more aggressive. Then, it got to the point where he obviously wouldn't give me information I needed and I was so astounded and frustrated that I told him he was being completely unprofessional. At that point, he refused to help me, 'recommending' a couple of specialist lawyers that I would have to pay for. I was laughing, the situation was so ridiculous. I said, "So you are refusing to do your job because you didn't like what I said about you. " There was no point trying to get help any more, as his behaviour was so unprofessional, so the conversation ended. I called Uniting Communities Legal Centre to make a complaint about Mark's blatantly obviously unprofessional behaviour and complete lack of usefulness to me. The manager took about a week to get back to me and when I spoke to him, he expressed doubt about the validity of my using the service and would not admit any possible fault on the part of the lawyer. He didn't even pretend to sympathise with my points about my conversation with Mark. The next time I called the centre for help, asking for another lawyer, they made me give my name and I was refused help. What is the point of providing a free service if it is utterly useless and people are not allowed to give valid 'feedback' and individuals are discriminated against and refused help for giving that valid 'feedback'?
Don’t use the Lawyer Mark he treats you like you are the criminal horrible, revolting, aggressive, belligerent, antagonistic person doesn’t listen to your requests and will gaslight everything that you discuss. He spews verbal diarrhoea. Another burnt out lawyer with anger issues.
He shouldn’t be working with vulnerable people. I will never use this service again
Very good, caring, lawyers helping me, sort my terrible mess that awas caused, by my mental Episode, being taken advantage of by Dress shop Owner
Poor service I needed help with a form but the person just laugh and told me not worth it. Has a lot of other people said second class person.not even 1 star.poor service.
I rang for some general advice in relation to a car accident I was involved in and the female I spoke to could offer no useful advice what so ever. I eventually found help through the Govt. Legal Aid office in the city I do not know why they are even listed as offering any help/advice because they are a waste of my time
They make you feel like a second class citizen and are not interested in helping you. Already a stressful situation when coming to them but instead of making things easier they make you feel at fault.
Terrible customer service. Not interested in giving advice even though I was referred to them by legal aid for advice
I am so fortunate to be involved with UC. They will go to all lengths to help. Counsellors are understanding and genuine. I recommend them to anyone who needs help. Keep it up guys.
Brilliant services and skilled staff helping to improve your life through financial services and facilities to make low interest loans that are easy to repay. I have used the service to repair my car, buy white goods and install air-conditioning over the past 5 years. I would be happy to recommend this service to anyone who is in need of financial assistance without being ripped off by payday lenders.
The people here are great to work with by far one of the best places I have worked. The only set back is the hours there's not full time work available in support work that's what i myself have found, But great for short casual shifts.the other draw back within the area I worked is there's no roster team so the coordinators have a plate load filling shifts but that's not my area so I'm glad I don't need to fill shifts plus case work lol.
Overall I would reccomened working here there are many areas to work it just happens the area I work full time is not there only part time and casual I do have hopes there will be full time work available down the track as it grows
The people managers training coordinators are awesome and I am glad to be a part of it and fingers crossed full time becomes a option down the track
Ok, so I am a little biased because I work for UC, but I can genuinely say that it is a wonderful organisation with brilliant services and programs. You just have to look at the website to see the variety of services offered to those within our community who need help and support the most. It is also the home of Lifeline Adelaide. A brilliant, essential service that literally saves lives. Uniting Communities does wonderful work and legitimately wants to make a positive difference in the lives of those who need it the most. Just brilliant.
