The financial counselling service is unreliable, if not woeful. After a month of waiting for a callback, i chased them up and was finally able to make an appointment. Then the appointment got moved to a different day without me being notified. I saw Lindal and we arranged to make a conference call at certain day/time. I waited an hour for a phonecall that never came. I left two messages yesterday (because nobody ever answers the phone), and today i rode my bike out there from across town to make contact in person. The office was unattended, but i could hear a staff member clicking a computer mouse. Ringing the bell was blatantly ignored. If this incompetence continues, i will be seeking help elsewhere.

Horrible place.
The poor visitors have no real entertainment.
The poor unfortunate people have no counsellors which care about human everyday issues.
Where is the staff at Uniting Care Wesley.
Have they all joined the military forces.

This has been a very sad place for many because of Rebecca in charge of Hope Cafe. For some soul destroying when there are such intolerant people as this about. Could be such a nice place.
Soul destroying for vonerable people.

I am thankful that charity services do exist because too many people really need them, as I have for the first time in a decade. But the food they're supplied with to give to people struggling is pitiful. You can take as many moldy potatoes as you like, I suppose you just wash the mold off when you get home, some potatoes on offer had liquified. There were carrots and mushrooms. You could take one pasta sauce, 2x 2 minute noodles, 1 packet of pasta, 1 long life milk and 1 loaf of bread that had 2 days left on its best before. The following day all of it bar 2 slices went in the bin because I found mold on it. One of the staff members was rather rude, an older man, talking about the people waiting to receive charity like we were peasants right in front of us, telling volunteers to "control us" as we make our selections. The ladies volunteering were very lovely though. This is my first time attending so hopefully it's not this bad every time. Again the older ladies volunteering are so sweet and helpful, so I want to acknowledge their time and patience with the volume of people they must see.

An effective and profitable way of getting rid of articles dumped at their Op Shop. Nothing of great value but obviously a great service to help those struggling financially at this time

I volunteer here. Most of us are great most of the time. Wednesdays are Community Food Days for those on low incomes. We offer a variety of services.
