We hired Truly Unforgettable in September 2022. Fantastic boat and great company. Being three stories high we were quite nervous about mooring the boat, even though we had hired houseboats many times over the years. They spent several hours going through everything, answering questions and offering tips. Really impressed with their thorough but friendly instruction.

The only thing we were not happy about was how long it took to get back to us about the fuel consumption. Pre-covid it was the practice to refill the fuel tanks in front of you, the day you disembark. So you knew exactly how much fuel you used and therefore how much you owed at the end of the trip. In this case it took several weeks for them to supply this information. It was also a little sus that we just happened to use the exact amount of fuel that the bond covered.

While the boat is definitely getting on in years, it is well maintained, clean and well stocked. Unfortunately, we did have issues with the generator overheating. Twice we had to call them out to fix it.

Lovely holiday.

Hired Unforgettable 12, August 2022.
Houseboat hire is expensive, but the experience is great. The people are friendly, unfortunately, the boat is looking tired and in need of some minor repairs. On the positive side, the beds are comfortable, great kitchen, very nice spa pool. The mechanical gangplank is very difficult to use and probably this boat's worst feature.

Barry the manager goes above and beyond, nothing is too much trouble. High winds made it difficult to moor our 3 storey houseboat, we called him and came along in his dinghy and did it for us. Thoroughly recommend Unforgettable, we have been sailing with them for years.

Loved it. We were all first time houseboat users. There were 8 adults on the boat. There's room for 12 in queen sized beds. Each cabin had its loo and shower.
There was a large fridge and small drinks fridge. Plus huge ice filled eskys. We only had 3 days. Ice would easily last a week.
There's a microwave and dishwasher. Huge round table to easily seat the lot. A great BBQ on the front deck.
Oh! There's a 4 person hot tub upstairs.
Hey. It's tricky to steer in a straight line. You get the idea after a while. It takes a long time to get where you want to go.
While the maps indicate where you can moor, they are not obvious. It turns out you simply find a spot and drive into the reeds then tie up to any tree you can use. As a newbie that was worrying. However, having done it, I'll be happy to do it again in the future.
I would happily hire from these people again. And I'd feel a lot more comfortable. We did have a great time.

Thanks for a terrific houseboat experience. The service was outstanding. A particular thanks goes to Charlotte and Kerri, for fabulous service and help when locating a missing item we left on board. I’d definitely recommend!

House boating up the Mighty Murray River… Well worth the effort, great staff and House boats.

Great scenery and fabulous company. Staff friendly and helpful. Houseboat could do with a bit of refurbishment.

My wife and some immediate family, 12 of us in total, hired Unforgettable 10 for a week recently, the whole experience was definitely unforgettable, but not for all the the right reasons.

Some of us traveled from Brisbane and some from Katherine in the NT so everything considered this week cost a lot of money for some of us, however, as you can understand, the trip in the houseboat was much anticipated, we were all very much looking forward to being on the Murray in the houseboat.

We also hired a speedboat which I can highly recommend as it is much easier mooring the speedboat at shops and stops along the Murray rather than mooring the houseboat, especially if there is any wind!

The Murray is a magnificent river to houseboat down, you sit in between 5-10km an hour, just watching the cliffs as River bank roll by. The great thing is that all you need is a car licence to drive a houseboat!

We chose some great spots to moor for the night. The first night we had a chef visit us on the boat with a waitress. The chef cooked our dinner, served it all and even washed everything and cleaned the kitchen. This was a fantastic meal!

On about the third day we started having generator issues. The generator indicator panel would start flashing a turtle symbol then it would stop. This happened to be a 40 deg day so the evap AC stopped as well as everything else. After a while we restarted the generator however it would eventually stop each time.

We called the on-call mobile number for Unforgettable Houseboats and the guys on call was able to reach us where we were, without moving. After some investigation it was found that the generator had a blown head! So this wasn’t good as obviously this was too big a job to do straight away to get us going again.

At this stage we were about 8 hours up stream from Mannum so it was discussed to meet another houseboat halfway to change boats, or the get a new head gasket and complete the works Walker Flat so we were asked to make our way to Walker Flat where power was available. This was a real pity as we had just moored at a great spot!

The on call person for Unforgettable Houseboats was very knowledgeable and was able to clean out the head and generator enough to get us going again. However we had just lost half a day with no power (once the batteries had fully discharged) no spa and no stove.

So off we went again, the generator didn’t cause us any grief until about 10am on our second to last day. Again we called the on-call number and met another guy at Pellaring Flat.

There wasn’t much that could be done for the generator now, at least the batteries were now full which gave us power to everything except the spa. We picked The Unforgettable guy up in the speedboat so that he could moor us and take a look at the generator, but it was a case of just start it and run it every so often so that it could keep the batteries charged.

Unfortunately the call out guy didn’t place the gang plank correctly on land and when he walked across it it twisted causing him to fall, as a result he ended up with a bad laceration on his calf. We patch him up and sent him off to get stitches at the nearest hospital.

So again no generator for the last day and night and next day! We got up early and made our way to Mannum the next morning, it was only a couple of hours.

Unfortunately there was also a bad stench coming from most of the floor drains in each of the bedroom en-suites which was not pleasant at all.

Once we unloaded everything from the houseboat we spoke to management and asked if anything could be done with the bill as effective we lost at least a day if not two and were inconvenienced a fair bit with no power.

I must say that their response to our issues was first class and that they did everything possible to make sure we had power.

We all had a great time, we caught several Perch and carp and all had a go behind the speedboat. We would do it all again, however I really hope that we don’t have power issues again, especially on a 40 deg day as that wasn’t fun!

Outdated boat with less than desirable rooms and layout, but still good for a family or group getaway

Poor service, boats dirty. Complaint raised, no response from owners. Boats poorly heated, bathrooms had mould and very unclean. Never go back.
