TUNO Izakaya reviews
31The Japanese fried food is very authentic. The best part is the fried chicken. Very tender and juice. Love their ambience. Well suited for young people to enjoyed their after work social connecting time. A bit unsatisfied, as many things on their menu is not available at a early Sunday evening around 18: 00. Feel like they are a bit underprepared. And they could also work on their service a bit more. I
We wanted to try this restaurant today. The food was an absolute disgrace. We ordered Beef BBQ and when it was served we realized that the cow was still dying. Portions are extremely small but prices are extremely high compared to the portions. We paid $15 for 100g of beef BBQ, $15 for 3 pieces of tofu, and $28 for mushroom soup without mushrooms. (my gf says there is some mushrooms if you look close) Tap water was of standard taste and there is a good news for this top water is free wuhhuu. If you guys have enough money to burn go with this restaurant.
Best food in Adelaide, very nice food, so delicious. The staff and chef are all really friendly and nice! ! Really recommend you guys to try it!
Worst ramen I've ever had in my life, tasteless and the smell made me feel sick. Egg was cold. Not returning
First time coming back after a long while and I was left utterly disappointed. My ramen lacked salt, flavour and spring onions. Not sure if they eggs were actually eggs? Not sure why there were meatballs? That were tasteless in the ramen. I left half the bowl uneaten. Waiting staff were unsure what they were serving to customers, much to improve on.
Greeted with a menu which already looked extremely limited however, we gave it the benefit of the doubt. The prices were very high compared to the portion of food served in the description. We waited quite a while for our food given that the restaurant was not crowded nor busy enough to delay orders. Finally, everyone but me have received their dish, and the quantity of food was exceedingly disappointing. An hour passes by and my order was still missing, other customers that had just arrived received theirs before me. My order finally came, and the rice I was given had gotten cold, in front of me was the most offensive looking beef that I waited an hour and almost a half for? I left this place with an empty stomach. I urge you to visit better places with better service and food that will at least keep you half satisfied unlike here!
This was a delicious bowl of ramen! The soy egg and noodles were soft and perfect, the broth had the right consistency and it was well portioned. However, I would've liked a little more salt or depth of flavour. But overall, I would still come back, maybe will try a different one. We also ordered the grilled mushrooms over the habachi grill & that was magnificent.

Overall nice place. The ramen are a bit on the expensive side for what it is, but tastes good. The Shoyu and Shio ramen were both nice, with a rich chicken soup broth base. Suggest Shoyu if you prefer saltier, Shio if you prefer light taste. It came with two halves of the egg too (most other places only give you one half egg). Ramen noodle texture was good (medium firm). Grilled riceball was a little too salty for my tastes, but still good. I rate the Karaage highly, it reminds me of the Taiwanese salt and pepper fried chicken style. The wait staff were very friendly, but a little awkward seeing them struggle with communication and the basics of the language. Nice decor and ambience. Plenty of bar-type seats, good for couples or single diners.
Tonkotsu ramen rating: 9/10
Small and cosy place with many bar seats facing the chef grilling away at the coal grill. Great alternative to the other Ramen places around the city. The tonkotsu Ramen that I had isn't the best but good enough to trump most other stores with its rich broth.
Thought I'd revisit this review again after 3 years, place has been super consistent with their ramen, as well as keeping the service super friendly and helpful. The grill has some items that I've grown fond of as well. Gave them an extra 5th star because I've been back so many times and walked out with a happy belly every time.
Very long waiting time and slow service (>30 mins per plate). Food is alright. Comparing this to winery meal quality and waiting time, it is incredibly super slow. Do not expect this for a normal dining.
Poor experience. Menu was misleading as to what is yakitori (grilled skewers) and what isn't. Some 'grilled' food arrived cold / not fully cooked. The waiter had poor communication skills which led to a poor customer service experience. Wouldn't recommend to friends and won't be returning.

Used to be good. I’ve dined here multiple times for the past 2 years and have recommended this place to many others. However, the standards of the ramen has dropped recently. I ordered the aburasoba tonight and it was significantly lacking in flavour compared to the past, i suspect that they’ve forgotten / omitted some ingredients (?). I wanted to raise this to the waitress but she was too busy to even pay attention to me (there was only one waitress). Hoping that the owner will see this and improve on the standards of service and the ramen.
This Japanese izakaya has tasteful decor and is a decent sized restaurant.
The food is alright. I found the yakitori chicken a little dry and plain. The dumplings were quite good. The ramen doesn’t compare to ramen in Japan. The noodles in them are smooth and silky and hand made I believe, but the broth is a bit lacking, perhaps a little watered down or not as rich as I was expecting. The sliced pork was soft and went well with the dish but the broth did let the dish down.
Ordered a tonkotsu ramen. Soup was lacking in flavour, watered-down, while being way too fatty. Noodles were on the thin side but had great texture. However, the portions were tiny. When I'm paying $17 for a bowl of ramen I'm expecting toppings more than a few thin slices of chashu and an underseasoned egg. There are simply better choices out there at this price point.
Everything was great and the service was good, too. A small joint with lots of Japanese decor make it feel authentic. We had 9 dishes between two of us and that’s more than enough. Ramen, chicken heart and chicken karaage were the top dishes. Beef tongue was a bit tough and it may just be slightly overcooked. Other dishes are all above average.
One dish was a disappointment hence it’s a 4 star - “Eggplant with miso”. The portion was small and there was no miso? I approached the waiter and he said “oh, we ran out of miso, sorry about that”. I believe the chef should’ve clarified before the customer finds out. Who would want a boiled eggplant with just salt and pepper for $10?
*grilled salmon was out of stock that day as well.
Ramen is really good and grilled stuff are really delicious especially chicken wing with fish egg. Service was a bit lacking thought.
Ramen is normal, the portion is small, men may not be full, but the chicken karaage is delicious, the meat is tender, and the service is quite good
This little shop appears unassuming, but the Ramen was great. We both had the tonkotsu, the broth was silky and had a great flavour, I just wish there was a second slice of the melt-in-your-mouth pork. The smell of fish grilling in the background had our mouths watering, will definitely go back.
Went here a few months ago. Quite surprised that this place has so many 4-5 star reviews.
Most ramen dishes were out of stock.
The food was just tasteless. It seemed the chicken yakitori was completely unseasoned.
