46Great food, great prices. Kids even ate all their nuggets and chips. Cold beers and nice friendly staff with great service. The flys can be a bit annoying.
A proper country pub! Very friendly staff and the locals make you feel right at home! We all really enjoyed our food and the salad bar was great! Plenty of seating however I would recommend booking on a weekend! Would highly recommend a stop here when passing through town!
Stopped in at the pub for lunch. Food was great, huge portions of well prepared & tasty food. Friendly service & great prices too.
Stopped in for lunch and had a burger each that were great tasting and plenty filling. Great service from staff, thanks
Enjoyed a counter meal at lunchtime. Great meal with a very generous serve. Senior discount on full priced meals. Very friendly staff.
I do NOT recommend this place. Pub looked fine (they even seemed to have some vegan options when I quickly looked at their menu), but the so called hotel was under all criticism. $90 for one night and the bedroom was tiny and looked like a basement/prison cell with cobweb everywhere, broken furniture, awful bed, a crack in the wall right through to the outside and stained bedsheets. Bathrooms are communal. This looked worse than all hostels I've stayed at for far less money. A good note though was that we got all our money back, when we 5 minutes after check in went back down to the front desk and asked to cancel our reservation and get a refund.
My partner and I travelled up on the Afghan Express from Port Augusta to Quorn, had booked a table for lunch before we our return trip. We found the service was slow, but with the number of people the hotel staff were serving, it was understandable.
The meal was fantastic with a couple of alcohol beverages (not driving) we can not complain, great business, certainly recommend the Transcontinental Hotel, any traveller should stop in
Unfortunately it's sad to give this place a low grade but tonight I went there with my family for my dads birthday waited over an hour for our food while others after us got theirs didn't get much info about why it wasn't coming out eventually decided it was better to get it take away then got home and realised we had stuff missing. Was pretty disappointed.
We enjoyed a wonderful lunch while stopped in Quorn on our trip on the Pichi Richi Railway.
The food was great and the meals served quickly
Great place for a pub meal for lunch. Reasonable price. I had the half serve chicken strip's.
Ordered well done rump steak. Very dry and crunchy on outside. Very dissapointed. Shame it's the only hotel still open in town
Stayed in Quorn caravan park for 2 nights which was just so peaceful …We ate at the Transcontinental both nights.lovely country pub.great meals and a good selection of wines. The friendly staff made us feel really welcome xx We loved Quorn and will definitely visit again ️
Place was full of underdressed locals, had to wait for 50 minutes for a meal and when it came it was dry, small and not complete, would not recommend.
Just had a counter lunch. Very pleased to be able to order a half chicken snitty with chips and salad. Drink was your standard lemon, lime and bitters.
Stored here on way to Wilpena Pound. Beer was really cold and the pub had a real country atmosphere about it. We stopped here at a time when the working day was done and workers from around the district gathered here for that cleansing ale and to share their stories. Our visit was quick, just enough time to enjoy an ale, then moved on.
Great service for meals & drink. The meal was great a very good pub meal considering I have been to a NSW RSL & Chinese on offer & Bowls club in QLD. Also Chinese offered just recently
It was great to see Aussie meals on offer
The room was turn back time if your into that a 100 year old pub
It was very clean & very pleasant. If I had to pull up short again I would stay there again. Ps I am in transport.
Classic country pub. Friendly staff and patrons we enjoyed a meal of lamb and fish and chips. Yum.
The food was really well cooked, tasted great and the service good. We had Whiting and chicken tenderloins.
We had a great meal and drinks here. Well done to the staff. My beef snitty was one of the best I have had! Great pub.
Went here with 50 odd friends after the Pichi Richi railways experience for lunch, all tried to be first in line. Yes they got busy, but handled it brilliantly. Pleasing smile and courteous service. More importantly cold beer! We order fish and it was cooked expertly.
