Tranmere Village Medical Centre reviews
14Not taking on anymore patients. Doesn't seem like a very good service to the public. Chloe was my receptionist very rude
I am so Glad I got rid of Dr Bamford She's rude, Very Judgemental & even when you try your best you still get frowned upon & always runs late no apology I could go on
Now I see a new Dr & she's breath of fresh air Very supportive, great listner, makes me feel confident, offers Advice she talks to you & she ALWAYS runs on time
I called very late in the day before Easter weekend to try and get an appointment with Dr. Bamford. Despite it being close to closing, Dr Bamford agreed to slot me in for a telephone consult - even though the reception staff informed me she had been the only GP working that day & was running late.
As previously, I found Dr. Bamford to be thorough in her investigation & offered sound advice & treatment.
Without Dr. Bamford agreeing to take another referral so late in the day, I would have struggled to manage until the following week.
Dr. Bamford do not look normal to me or my family. She sometimes treat us so bad, that you just wanna leave straight away. Today we booked her to see after giving birth. It was 2 weeks Mum and bub appointment. She asked me and my 2 weeks old son to sit outside backside. As she stated that my son haven’t got any covid vaccines. That was absolutely nightmare to know this. That she is saying to little newborn. Then it was her responsibility to check my bp or weight after birth, she did not even asked that how was my delivery.
Later I’ve asked can I put my son on to little bed so I can check my weight. She clearly said no.
She was extremely rude, woundnt even let me to complete my sentence.
Sadly she has done this number of times, where she has treated me really bad. But today I made my decision not to go to her. I’m so scared of her. Her sarcastic behaviour is just acceptable!
The positive was that I was seen within an hour of calling.
However their practice standards follow behind from other service providers who care about their customers and provider a superior level of customer service.
In my experience, my normal doctor was not available on the day so I was booked in and seen by an older gentleman who I could see was visibly worried about catching COVID and ushered me out after approx. 5 minutes. I then was told at reception that there would be a $60 fee payable for a item 23 - standard consultation, as it is the doctors discretion to charge. So I had to pay the whole fee upfront and then claim through Medicare. Generally my normal doctor would bulk-bill so I was unaware of this process they follow.
I would recommend and alternative medical provider who has modern day business practices and customer service at the higher end. Its a shame really as if the practice up-skilled in these areas they would be a favourite with the locals.
Does Maylia the Receptionist have a medical or nursing background? Is it appropriate for patients when booking an appointment to see the Doctor with Maylia on the phone taking the call, to explain their medical condition, and details to her over the phone? Could Maylia just simply ask? How long do you think you will need to be with the Doctor for? Not everybody feels comfortable with having to disclose their personal medical history, or problems to a Receptionist. When all you want to do is just book an appointment. Other members of the community have had similiar situations like this, as well. Blunt and rude.
Our family has been seeing Dr Bamford for about 12 years. Yes you might have to wait to see her but it's worth it. Dr Bamford is thorough and very competent and just a beautiful person. I won't trust any other doctor with my family. This whole practice is full of wonderful people. The staff at the desk are always friendly, sometimes I ring and they know my voice, they really care about their patients.
The reception staff and nurse are lovely, however if you want your child to be treated - don't go here. Not only did Kristina NOT treat my son, she gave poor advice, and then lied about it to the Medical board when I made a complaint. Other families in the community have had similar experiences with this Dr.
The last time I am ever going to this doctor surgery ever again. She was rude, always runs late and made me feel very uncomfortable
We had really great experience with Dr Bamford however in the beginning we feel bit uncomfortable but now we feel welcomed and get really good advice from doctor. Thanks Tranmere village medical center team.
Tranmere Village Medical Centre has looked after my health for years and they have always been professional and up to date with medical issues, including treatment and sending reminders for health checks. The doctors, nurses and the staff are really nice.
The doctor was condescending and made me feel very uncomfortable. I left without dealing with my issue as I did not feel comfortable speaking to the doctor within the consult.
Very bad customer service from the front desk.
They always made you wait for at least 1hr I had an appointment at 10 but it's already 11 still waiting
Worst doctors office, the reception staff are homophobic, rude, incompetent and inconsiderate. They consistently make mistakes and never apologise and the only saving grace is Dr Mellor. She needs her own practice as this clinic is a joke. Don't waste your time.
