Torrens Arms Hotel reviews
84VERY overpriced and poor quality! Possibly the worst pub meals we have ever had. We ordered twice from here.once the seafood pizza which had no ingredients whatsoever, and the other where we had the beef burger which had a beef patty which was half the size of the bread which was also over cooked. The bread was also stale and no sauce. We enjoyed the quiz though each time, but food I would not recommend. Save your $$!
Had a great meal, the staff were helpful, friendly and efficient. The $15 schnitzels were delicious, I'll be back on another Tuesday to have another
Well it was busy, and we didn't have a booking and they accommodated us, which was great. But they waited until we had gone to the trouble of perusing the menu and making a decision and were ready to order before they told us it would be a 45 minute wait on food. So we left
Very good food and very good service and very good staff members everyone should come here for a meal and stay the knight here in the hotel
Pretty bad experience. Maybe just bad luck? Our two meals took 45 minutes to arrive even though hotel was empty. Steak badly overdone, replacement was ok but we wondered if they are pre cooking the steaks then warming to order? Chicken in the burger burnt. We are chefs and noticed both steaks had a distinctive ‘fridge’ taste. Management were friendly and offered replacement drinks to compensate though the glass of wine never arrived. For the price it was a disappointment, wouldn’t dine there again.
Great hotel with nice decor to catch up with friends and family for lunch or dinner. Enjoyed the food and the service was friendly and attentive.
I've been to the TA several times over the years and can reliably count on the pub to deliver quality food at great prices. On specific days they'll have awesome food/drink specials and I love coming here on Wednesdays for the awesome quiz nights. I wouldn't call the establishment/food 'world class' but for a quality Adelaide pub to have a feed, it fits the bill perfectly. Can't wait to come back.
Large birthday group - my mum had the lamb and it was almost all just fat - she left all of her meal. My nephew had the fish and chips and he said it was horrible. Went to pay and let the staff member know mums meal was inedible - no acknowledgement at all/no response. Shocking meal and awful customer service. Very disappointing
Went for Christmas Day lunch and half the tables meals came out 45 min after the other half. I had the porterhouse as did most of the table and most agreed it was the worst pub meal we have ever had. Absolutely horrible
A great Christmas Lunch very good value for the money, the staff were very helpful considering it was so busy
The Torrens Arms Hotel - nice staff, good menu choices, meals well presented & cooked well - a friendly hotel in Kingswood keep the style - the original hotel built back in 1857
Thursday night, front bar, $17 rump steak, chips and salad, very impressed.
Plus a decent glass of red $4 extra, bonus!
Beautiful restaurant quality food. We dined in the room on a lower level from the newer, modern dining room. This room is heritage decorated, the lighting is warm and creates a more intimate atmosphere. The staff are very well trained and friendly but not intrusive. Seniors menu is offered alongside a main menu and is comprehensive. There is also a chef special menu of the day. Something for absolutely everybody. 10/10.
Having reserved tables at a front bar is just silly, half the people don't show up, it causes confusion and confrontation, first come, first served should apply.
Had seniors lunch the other day. Pleasant dining room, quiet and cozy. I ordered the salmon which I thought was a bit expensive for the seniors menu. Oddly had a boiled egg and olives along with other hot veg on the plate. Fish was nice though
I went to the Torrens Arms Hotel the thurs after the queens passing, I had the best time. Staff were excellent, food was excellent, great menu selection reallly had a great time.highly recommend a visit.will come again
4 years ago I went to the torrens arms hotel for dinner and the staff were really rude. They didn't want to even bring my food out and just rolled their eyes.
Tonight though I went back and got great service, glad to say none of those staff members were their this time.
I have always liked the torrens arms so it made me really sad when I got treated so badly.
Booked and looking towards Christmas Day lunch with my family of 9. All so a thankyou to Rebbeca for helping us for arranging our table
2022 update. Sunday lunch catchup with a friend. Very busy and noisy, tables were a bit close making it hard to move around. Staff were friendly. We shared a tasting plate that was okay but nothing special. Didn't stay for dessert as too noisy for conversation and food wasn't good enough to try something else. Might go back another time when less busy and try proper meals.
We go there for Thursday $17 steak night. No complaint at all. Really good steak for the price. We actually finish the whole thing and go back there when ever we get time on a Thursday night.
