TONY MENZ ORTHOPAEDICS reviews
12Attended for an “Independent Medical Examination “. He was very rude and said that I suffer from injury belief and that I exaggerated my back condition. My MRI clearly shows that my discs are making contact with my nerves but he made no mention of this. He is definitely on the insurers side which is not very fair for injured workers. He also picked what I said to put in the report and left out the things that I said that didn’t correlate with his terrible and untrue report. The WorkCover scheme needs a real overhaul as it’s designed to cause further pain and suffering for genuinely injured persons and not to actual help them get better and return to work.
I had the misfortune of Anthony Menz appointed as the 'Independent Medical Examiner' for my worksafe claim. Some of his first words to me was how busy he was and how he was making a lot of money from that day - one can only assume from the insurance comapnies paying for his opinion. His opinion was not worth the paper it wass metaphorically written on - he didn't even review my x-rays. I had to take my claim to the Medical Panel, and they recently decided in my favour. I am now, finally, booked in for surgery - 12 months after it was requested, 12 months of extra pain and worry which wasn't necessary -. 100% would not recommend this guy.
Shocking experience. Misinforming, seriously rude, invasive and a waste on insurance company dollor$
Conducted an "independent" medical examination on me for a serious neck injury I suffered at work. Dr Menz told me I had a bit of arthritis and was clear to go back to my physically stressful job. Am now awaiting multilevel surgery on my cervical spine after my radiological evidence was reviewed by a neurosurgeon and spinal pain specialist. Very rude and difficult.
In 2006 Tony Menz operated on me, performing a routine ACL reconstruction while he was working at Sportsmed SA. His bedside manner was unpleasant at best but I assumed this was par for the course. My recovery went very poorly despite my efforts, for which he berated me.nearly 14 months later the head physio at Sportsmed suggest an Arthroscopy to understand why the recovery as so poor. This was performed by another ortho at Sportsmed, Tony Spriggins. He told me the scaring in my knee and condition of the graft suggest a poor initially surgery outcome. He, in confidence, told me my initial surgery look like it had been 'botched'.
Serval years later I found out that Tony Menz had been drummed out of Sportsmed for his reputation as a "cutter", someone who is only concerned with his stats and treats patient care as a distant concern.
I was hardly an elite athlete but I spent two years of my peak unable to play sport and my end result was going from a 12.5 second 100 to over 15 seconds.
I cannot strongly enough suggest people avoid this surgeon. I wish deeply I'd never walked into his office.
I cannot recommend this surgeon highly enough. I had a very bad experience by another surgeon and Dr Menz assisted me to walk again. He was magnificient. I have had many, many surgeries that he has done all conservative but moving towards the goal of being pain free. I have had a total knee replacement that has been a huge success. He is incredibly honest about the amount of work you have to do for the ultimate recovery. My knee replacement was ten years ago. I have climbed many stairs, done many kms walking and have lived a much better life. He told me it was 30% of him and 70% of my work. This is true. Dont expect a miracle, you have to work for it.
Fantastic surgeon! Was extremely anxious for over 6 years to have my knee op but on meeting Dr Tony i dont know why? He was fantastic! His nature and his impeccable skills i am now on the mend and now want my other knee fixed asap! Nichola made all the bookings to make everything so easy from my first consult to all the surgical and hospital appointments just made it so easy considering i was so anxious about the whole procedure but i can recommend Dr Tony Menz and his very professional side kick Nichola for anybody that needs any orthopedic procedures!
I have had Dr Menz perform both my arthroscopes. He was well recommended by others and the entire process from consultation to post surgery follow ups was very easy to deal with.
I’ve had Dr Menz for left Knee replacement in July, a perfect job, now going back for my right Knee replacement on 14th Nov. I found Dr Menz a skillful Surgeon who calls a spade a spade, if you do the rehab as advised you will enjoy painless Knees. I give Tony & Staff of the Ashford Hospital my highest praise, many thanks.
Recently I tore the Cartilage in my right knee and required surgery in the form of an Arthroscopy to mend the injury I had sustained. Not being a fan of medical procedures, initially I was extremely nervous and some what apprehensive. From the very first meeting with Doctor Menz and his Personal Assisted Nichola I felt reassured and confident in regards to the surgery, I was sincerely treated like a part of the family. All my previous worries and concerns had gone. I am happy to say that the procedure went very well and I am back participating in all my family activities, pain free. I would absolutely without any hesitation recommend Doctor Menz to all my family and friends that may require his services. I can not thank Doctor Menz and his Personal Assisted Nichole enough.
I have known Tony for 12 years. Tony performed my first knee reconstruction in 2005 following an ACL tear playing football. Not only did he do a great job, but his care and attention towards me that first time was excellent. Tony was reassuring and instilled an immediate confidence and trust that most people rarely get when they first meet a doctor.
Subsequent ACL and meniscus tears from playing football and cricket meant more trips to Tony over the last 12 years-every time was like catching up with a friend rather than a doctor.
When you make an appointment to see Tony you need to speak with Nichola first. Not only is Nichola warm, friendly and caring but knowledgeable, experienced and competent in taking care of all your administrative needs. Nichola even babysat my newborn during one of my post-op appointments!
Tony has operated on me numerous times; I have never had a complication, loss of mobility or issue from any of his surgeries. I have full use of my knee today and this is only due to Tony being an excellent surgeon.
Tony’s attention to his patients is far beyond that of other doctors that I have seen and I will continue to, as I always have, recommend Tony to people in need of lower-limb orthopaedic surgery.
My partner had a knee replacement and we found Tony and Nichola his personal assistant both very accommodating as we were encouraged to ring any time of the day or night or even weekends if we had any concerns. Highly recommended, professional and friendly service.
