Tomiko Japanese Steak House reviews
56 Unfortunately very bad experience, a real let down much better places to eat in Adelaide. Would no recommend or return.
The owner needs to learn to take onboard customer feedback and not get defensive.
We had a group of 6 for lunch and had the Teppanyaki Gold Banquet. We all love everything. The food was fresh and delicious. Our waiter answered all of our questions. Would definitely recommend and go back again.
We had a degustation menu (booked through Luxury escapes) and it was probably the best value for money I have ever had! The food was fresh, authentic with lots of flavour. The portions were huge!
The staff was nice and friendly but the service was a bit slow and uneven. Nevertheless, definitely recommend.
Had a great night out, food, service were fantastic. There was plenty to eat for two person set menu, we took home a doggy bag because it was too good to leave.
Definitely recommend and will go back again.
Had a 10 course banquet via scorpion. Shared with a couple who have spent a lot of time in Japan. We all really enjoyed the food - there were good sized servings and we couldn't have eaten more by the end of the banquet. Service was great without hovering. Plenty of time offered between courses. A great night.
Food was gross don't come here unless you want to spend your weeks pay check on BAD food
Serving size of food was huge, taste of food was delicious, staff were attentive and atmosphere of the restaurant was just lovely. Would come again!
A pleasant evening. Portion size was reasonable. Food is generally a bit too salty in my opinion. The soy sauce added at the end to the fried rice was not necessary.
If I could leave 0 stars I would. Bought my missus and I a share platter last year for $200 that was meant to have lobster on it but all it had was a lobster shell with grilled haloumi as the lobster. Waited to leave this review so they wouldn't know who I am. If you go here with average jow clothes on they'll take advantage of you thinking you don't know the difference. Food was all dry anyway definitely not worth $200 haha. Got more from a $70 platter at the wharf than this rip off advantage taking place. Lol
So. We had the Platinum Teppanyaki set menu. Sashimi, Gyoza, Tempura - all fresh and tasty. The salad had seen better days and had solidified dressing on it so I gave this a miss. The disappointment was the food cooked on the grill. The main flavouring was butter.on everything and NOT in a small amount. Moreton bay bugs butter, prawns - butter, scallops - butter every now and again some veg oil. Fried rice with LOTS OF BUTTER flavoured with a little garlic (in oil) and more OIL and then finished with some soy sauce - the ONLY other flavouring used. Chicken cooked with LOTS of BUTTER and then Broccoli with. Guess what. BUTTER and then a smidgen of garlic oh and oil! I saw some potential for cross contamination with the same knife used to cut raw chicken then used on everything else. The beef at the end was tender and flavour but again cooked in. LOTS of BUTTER and oil. Seriously I don't see what the fuss is about. 5 people sat around the hot plate and by my estimation 2 sticks of butter were used (250g)
In a nutshell, if you like butter you are in luck.otherwise walk past
Was amazing experience! Such friendly staff and amazing food! Drinks were awesome also, hands down the best service and food quality I had
Location is nice, service very good, but the food was disappointing. In general food was overcooked and under seasoned. For the prices they charge, you may expect much better. Steak was medium at best, not medium rare (they slice it before cooking so medium rare will almost be impossible), lobster tasted as it had been frozen. Edamame also cooked way too long as well. Karaage chicken was ok but lacking seasoning. Same for the asparagus. I mentioned this as salt and pepper are not provided so you would expect it to be cooked to perfection.
Went to Tomiko's tonight and what an experience! Chef Matt is extremely skilled and is a fantastic top tier Teppanyaki chef! Highly recommend. You would think he from Japan, can't wait to return
Service was good but steak was very disappointing especially at that price point. Was much better years ago.
Lovely spot with both outdoor and indoor dining areas and nice view of the water front and the boats. Authentic menu and friendly staff. Oyster, tempura prawns and the steaks with fried rice were really delicious. Nice selection of drinks and sauces.
The deserts were nice and fresh to end the experience.
Had the teppanyaki degustation experience for lunch, the wait staff were all very friendly and professional. Our chef was a lovely lad who was happy to chat with us and go through the cooking process of each dish he prepared. Really looking forward to going back and trying the rest of the menu
Environment is 5-star. But the food is a bit disappointed, just 1-star from me. Not value for money.
Beautiful location. We took our whole family to enjoy the experience of traditional Japanese cooking on the hot plate.
We were not overly impressed of the quality of the food.
Our chef had limited experience on the hot plate compared to other japanese restaurants we had dined in.
We went on Xmas Eve and I felt they could of done more to embrace the spirit of Xmas.
Fantastic Experience, amazing food, lots of fun, great hosts & walked away super satisfied!
One of the busier places along the dining strip & for very good reason
100% worth it & definitely go for the Teppanyaki experience
What more can I say. Chef Matt. Fresh produce, cooked perfectly. As long as he is there, i'll be back for sure.
