Tinlins Cellar Door reviews
21 As a child I remember my father taking me to this place. It was a great experience then and still is now. I might be a bit biased for this winery, but I have always been treated with great service and the pricing even today is inexpensive. I have taken my own children to visit this place and now even have brought my grand children for a drive. Every time I attend this place I always tend to purchase in bulk. One item that has been purchased from generation to generation is the photo below. You may enjoy this drink nearly every night and it is worth it. Again service excellence and reasonable pricing. Also you can try other wines if you like. Please if you do try the variety of wines Please bring a dedicated driver as the staff here are so friendly you may try one or two too many. If in this area drop in, enjoy and purchase. You will not regret it.
Cosi Director Cavbiz.
Great experience, we knew what we wanted to try before we got there, and all our questions were answered.it felt like a relaxed environment and we were able to try everything we were interested in.we bought a bottle of everything we tried (and even two we didn't)! Such great value and we'll be back for sure!
Great quality cheap wines and fortified wines. However If you want great customer service and wow architecture go around the corner and pay $100 per bottle. The reviewers on here complain incessantly, but still want cheap prices. Go figure.
Absolutely felt like an inconvenience from the moment I walked in and mocked for asking any questions…rudest service member I’ve met in mclaren vale…I won’t be back
Their bulk new port is great for putting in a barrel, Ive been filling my barrel with their port for 15 years now.
The 10yo tawny is a wonderful, rich, budget port that is ready to drink (seriously nothing at this price point from the bottleshop can even come close)
And the prices are unbelievable!
Edit: Anyone giving a low rating based off the "friendliness" of the particular staff member does not understand the model of this business, they are not here to be a wanky winery with some stupid balcony bar, the staff member in question is not rude or disrespectful in any way whatsoever, and their attitude does not correspond the quality of their product.
If you want to be asslicked, go to a tourist trap and spend a fortune on average product.
If you want a quality product at a reasonable price head on down to tinlins for the best in the biz.
This place is not super glitzy, but, they have a great product range to taste, and many packaging options.
The service was great, and the prices were surprisingly inexpensive!
This one is on the “next visit” list.
Just enjoyed a Tinlins, 100% McLaren Vale Shiraz. This must be the world's most underrated McLaren Vale Shiraz. Please, do yourself a favour, get out to Tinlins at try this secret of the region Shiraz. You won't be disappointed. But you should hurry, as soon as this little gem is realized, it will disappear.
Great visit today. The gentleman who greeted us was very, very helpful and pleasant.
The Coffee Nectar and Apricot Nectar are to "die" for.
All up a very enjoyable visit and needless to say happy with our purchases.
Unfortunately we had a very disappointing experience at Tinlins today! We were met by the most unwelcoming reception ever!
We had a wonderful experience there in 2018, assisted by very friendly staff back then, and the wine we purchased was really good!
But the lady in attendance today, had a really bad attitude and no people skills whatsoever.
Very rude, very unwelcoming, pity though as we brought our parents from overseas to Tinlins agian as they have had a great experience there (3 years ago), lady that works there now should not be working with customers. No people skills.
Have been a few times to get their nice 10-year old tawny. Previously the young man was very welcoming to us but our last trip was a disappointment. The lady who attended to us (appeared to be the owner) was not at all friendly. She didn't even return our cheerful greeting and was so sullen and abrupt to us.not a single smile! Really upset us and spoiled our outing.
The ruby port is one of my favorites, now that im starting to drink wine im very impressed with the whites and reds tinlins provide at an exceptional price. Keep up the great work guys.
I get port for my Port Barrel there and it is very good quality and they have a good selection of fortified wines and the prices are competitive drink wisely
I thoroughly recommend Tinlins Semi- Sweet White. It is smooth and subtle which makes for a refreshing summer drink for a very affordable price. I have buying this wine for quite a while now and will continue to do so for a long time yet!
Tinlins produce excellent wines in bulk at very affordable prices. My sister loves the apricot wine for drinking & cooking! Add a splash to your gravy next sunday roast! I personally believe their red is better than some $30 bottles of reds I've had!
Mute and disinterested customer service, we couldn't leave quick enough! Don't waste your time.
Good quality bulk dry red shiraz, for a Good price.refill your wine bladders from the casks &get discounts. Need more varieties of wines available, e.g. Grenache, temperanillo, etc. Good value for money.better quality than other well known cask wines.
Good variety of Wine, Port & Sherry. Great value for money. You can purchase from the Barrel or by the Bottle. You can bring your own container or alternatively purchase a plastic 4 litre bottle for $3. Please note: Cash only.
Excellent value good quality wines, ports and sherries.
Non pretentious and friendly, you won't find people in blue suits with pointy shoes getting in your way when you visit.
Tinlins is a good cheap winery that's happy to sell 1 bottle or fill your container of almost any size. The wines on offer are basic reds and whites but really good value for the price. If you're expecting fancy wine with label to match, go elsewhere. McLaren Vale has no shortage of fantastic wineries. This is a budget place, but don't let that put you off from trying it.
The cellar door hasn't changed at all in decades, which appeals to me as the winery is putting its money where it matters: buying more tanks and making more wine.
Cash only. No EFTPOS or credit cards.
