Thebarton Aquatic Centre reviews
20The staff were rude and mean to my children. I never saw a staff member smiling in a very old place. Every staff member told me a different policy. I seriously suspected that they were racist.
Really old and dirty facilities, pool has loose and sharp tiles. Accidentally got cut by one of the tile whilst swimming and the first aid people didn’t do anything expect put pool water on it. Is this the treatment all the time? You could be swimming in people blood and other bodily fluids.
Basic but good. 3 pools-lap pool, therapy pool and kids pool. Parking is a pain when the footy is on at Thebby Oval.
Wonderful instructors, very good with teaching the kids swim skills. Great holiday program too. However, one of the reception staff can be quite rude and the building could do with a renovation.
Thebarton is a good swimming centre, I specially enjoyed their vac swimming. Very good instructors
It is over priced when it comes to casual visits! Adelaide aquatic centre is cheaper with more to do and more facilities and cleaner.
I have started getting adult swimming classes here and am really happy. Lorenzo is a great instructor. It’s a small, basic facility but has a nice community feel.
Great place for learn to swim for kids. Adults are well catered for in all aspects of water exercise.
Went for a swimming carnival and really enjoyed it. The pool area is old but very clean and well looked after, a credit to the staff and clubs that use it.
Dishonest. Poor service. Inflexible and not honouring anything not in writing - we used Groupon vouchers for initial lessons and when enrolling we were told that the subsequent 8 lessons will have 25% discount. When it came to extending the lessons we were told that as we didn't get it in writing it will not be honoured (!). Only the lucky punters that got it in writing had the discount applied. Reception staff said it was all a misunderstanding and that was the end of the discussion (!). So we paid the full price for the next 2 weeks (it was mid November, so we paid to the end of the month, that's their protocol) and we were told that since we were paying for 2 weeks only we should use the School Sports vouchers for the next month as the fee for the 2 weeks wasn't high enough (and no, we could not pay for the month and a half.too hard!). When we wanted to pay and use the vouchers for December we were told that they were no longer accepting the vouchers (!) as of last week - so nobody can use them for December. Even after being told week before that they could. Should have got it in writing I guess! Not coming back - pity as the kids enjoyed their lessons. Me less so - small pool, dirty change rooms, I tried to swim when kids had lessons and afterwards only to find myself kicked out of the pool when it was needed for other users (obviously some people are more important than others.). Should have got it writing that a lane will be available when I paid for the admission!
Poor staff skills dealing with diverse culture background child, one of staff yelled front of parents and rude enough not to be humble over communication with children & parents.
A great swimming centre for your kids to have fun while they learn how to swim! The staff are wonderful, friendly and great teachers!
The swimming instructors are quite good, however, the facilities seriously need a major upgrade. I tried the swimming lesson with a coupon deal, but I won't go back. The chlorine is so strong and the swimming pool water is cloudy. I won't want my kids to swim in those water.
Excellent instructor and my. Kids love their lessons. Only thing is the showers doesn't even have a curtain. Where I come from its very disapproved
A good little local pool, reasonable entry fee and kept quite clean. Could use an update especially to bathrooms but it's maintained well. Wouldn't want to swim there when it's busy but I've been lucky every time I've been there to find it rather quiet. Not revealing when that is.
Great community pool. The staff here are fantastic, facilities are basic, but serviceable. Pools are in good condition. Perfect place for lane swimming or kids swim classes.
Fabulous place for children to learn how to swim. The instructors are all awesome and so patient with our little ones
It has the best general public Hydrotherapy pool in Adelaide. Clean, ramp, temp at correct level of 34- 36 degrees almost every day. The showers have hot water at good pressure. The staff are friendly and helpfull. The baby and infant instructors are great and approachable.
Since having serious knee surgery (two total replacements) I looked around for a local facility which had a Hydrotherapy pool.
This community swimming centre has one such, with a good ramp and plenty of room. Water is always plenty warm.
The Hydro Pool sometimes doubles as a teaching place for babies and toddlers (and their parents). So it can get a little full.
It doesn't bother me, in fact I quite enjoy watching infants becoming water safe, and I just get on with doing my exercises.
I have latterly taken to going there by bus. (a person with new knees can't drive for 8 weeks!) The B10 which traverses South Road stops within a 4-5 minute flat walk of the Centre.
Driving there is plenty of parking
There is also a Children's Pool (shallow), and an Olympic sized pool.
But there is no diving pool.
The facility is dated. But works well
Excellent spot to bring your family - we have a great recovery sessions here after a hectic week of trainings
