The Wharf reviews
49 Messed up my meal. Chips arrived cold, salad was super salty and soggy, garlic sauce might have had garlic on the same bench as it was prepared. Schnitzel came out hot, like microwaved type hot. Don't think I will return, shame as I brought 3 interstate guests with me.
The chef / kitchen staff do not wear gloves or hair / beard nets. Which is concerning since the "head chef" has a very advanced beard.
What has happened to this place? Used to be so good. Overpriced, unappetising food. The $60 special linguine was truly shocking. A couple of cherry tomatoes, a few pieces of crab, and a tiny, dried up bug in a non descript, almost non existent sauce.
I regret not asking for a refund. My friend and I ordered the ragu beef gnocchi - the gnocchi tasted like chewy playdough, and every bite with the sauce had crunchy bits, the same consistency as sand. We couldn’t even finish the meal. For $39 it was not worth it.
The toilet had an awful, pungent smell and was obviously not well maintained, to which the smell reeked into the dining area, causing us to move tables.
To top it off we were charged not only for one glass of table water, but for two. As we moved tables, we were given another bottle, completely unaware that we were to pay for table water until we received the bill.
I am extremely disappointed with this restaurant given that there are some great review here which did not meet my expectations.
Absolutely awesome. The food & service were brilliant.
Lisa took the stress out of organising a 60th Birthday for me. 34 people allserved with professionalism with big smiles. Nothing was too hard,
Had a lovely evening at the Wharf for my fathers birthday. Service was great and very personable. Food came promptly and was all tasty and good sized servings (enough we were more than full). Prices we felt were reasonable for what we ordered. The restaurant also treated my father to a birthday dessert which we manage to just squeeze in. Would visit again
The food is of fine quality, but the steak I ordered would’ve been a bit dry, haven’t there was gravy. The other food was excellent and tasty. The service at the wharf was excellent and high quality, which cared for customers. However, the food at the wharf is very overpriced. The porterhouse steak is $48 but in reality is worth $30 at most. I assume the reason the food is so overpriced is because of the location. 7/10: too expensive but worth the view and tasty food, will come one more time in a few years.
We had seared scallops, seafood chowder, lobster & prawn linguine. Thanks for the perfect food and great service. I will miss this place, strongly recommed for seafood lover.
Stumbled across this bar after getting rejected from another. We had the samples platter and dessert. Both of which were very tasty.
The staff were very polite and friendly. Our inquiry about the desert was answered and we ordered it.
Thanks for a great time after being let down by others. Really made our evening.
Went to order coffee today was rudely told too busy will be hours grief very few tables occupied iside and out. Was going to enquire about a function I wanted to book for min 30 people clearly not now or in the future.
What a beautiful jewel of a restaurant! We had a table overlooking the beautiful sparkling waters of the marina under the shade of the pavilion, which was perfect. Our table service was attentive and friendly with a great sense if humour, keeping us laughing. The menu was excellent with a broad selection from seafood to steak, to salad & some Asian style dishes, enough options to suit any group. The stuffed chicken was delicious, packed full of flavour. All the dishes had very generous serving sizes, even the Entrees. We had a fabulous lunch out. Highly recommend!
Food was delicious and the service from David was outstanding. Will be back.
Thank you ️
Food was good, but the service left a sour taste in our mouth. We'd booked for a large group and we found the gentleman serving us rude and rushed, like everything we asked for was a hassle. Given our bill was in excess of $1000, it would have been nice if we were made to feel welcome at the very least. Disappointing.
OUTSTANDING! The manager was so amazing going above and beyond to make our experience the absolute best possible will come back for sure
AMAZING went all out with lobster thermador and a seafood platter to share between 3.incredible service such friendly staff chatty and keen to look after our every whim! BEST LOBSTER EVER.def will be back
Went for a 50th. Food was excellent, great outdoor location on the marina.
We had the à la carte. Service was top notch. Food is of good portion. Seafood chowder is one of the best. Will definitely go back
Was such a good experience, I’ve never had oysters that fresh. I ordered the lobster pasta and couldn’t get through half of it as the portion was amazingly huge. My partner got the garlic bread and it was mouthwatering and the chicken schnitzel was also a struggle to finish due to the size! The staff were so attentive and always helpful, and always right there ready to take unwanted plates and refill water and the check in to see if everything was to our likings
Never again! Food was average & ridiculously over priced The service was non existent.
I had the seafood chowder, an interesting name due to the fact other than 6 mussels there was precisely one piece of seafood
The waiters were more interested in talking at the bar than in serving the customers. We had to keep asking for service & then it was reluctantly given.
Never again.
Thank chef Peter for your understanding of my dietary requirements you went about and beyond, staff were fantastic and the food was delicious
The food was lovely but the service let this place down. Tried to order 2 wines and could not get anyone to serve us. They later apologised due to staff going on their breaks. How does this become our problem as a customer waiting for service. Too many other choices in this location to be bothered to go here again.
Overpriced food, pub quality at best. Dessert was uneatable. It was a special occasion, the day before I rang to confirm booking and asked if was possible for a table with a view and room for wheelchair, I was told that wouldn't be a problem. When we arrived our table wasn't ready and we didn't get a view. Won't be back.
