The Wellington Courthouse reviews
7 We had the pleasure of staying at the Courthouse for my 40th Birthday celebrations and we weren’t disappointed.
Perfect for entertaining a large group of people with well configured bedrooms, plenty of bathrooms and a fantastic undercover court yard.
The owners were also attentive and went above and beyond to make sure our stay was comfortable and well catered for.
Great place to stay by the river. Quiet and lots of spaces for large groups. Renovated clean bathrooms. Wheelchair accessible. Plenty of beds.
Despite the chilly & wet weather, that was not on a day that the Courthouse usually opens, Michael enabled a group of Ladies' Probus Club of Strathalbyn members to conduct a self-guided tour of the museum/courthouse, and taking photos of three of the ladies occupying the dock & with the remainder of them occupying the area for witnesses.
Fabulous stay, comfy beds, best of amenities, spacious rooms, modern bathrooms, relaxing outlook and gorgeous river views.
Fantastic period courthouse B&B with very friendly hosts. Great location, clean and comfortable rooms and bathrooms. Highly recommended
A big part of Wellingtons history and worth a look around even though the museum side of things is currently being upgraded.
Situated on the banks of the Murray river net to the ferry there is a cafe and you can get a Barister type coffee and something to eat. Comfortable and relaxed seating around a small fire pit. Very nice
They also offer accommodation and dining in house and will do Christmas parties, weddings etc.
The guide on duty when I visited was very welcoming and had plenty of historical information about this site.
On Coach Tour with 56 'seniors' - a cold, windy November day, surprised to have the Dining Room heated by a roaring wood fire, and enjoyed a magnificent Roast Dinner with 'the works' - two superbly cooked meats, with seven vegetables, delicious gravy and a range of condiments & sauces - rated by many on board as "the best Roast ever! " Friendly and efficient staff, with everyone served and 'on our way' in 90 minutes, after time to explore the riverfront and excellent historic Courthouse restoration. Well done, Heather, Allan and chef Dave!
