The Velo Precinct reviews
34Coffee is good, people are good.my negativity is derived around their recent decision to start charging $5 for the use of their play space.
Unreliable business. Despite awareness of website info stating 3pm close, Management intermittently insists they close at 2.30pm (this depends on how they feel on the day!)
Also, the Spokey Dokey cafe is randomly reserved for private parties, leaving other customers who arrive missing out. Management says to check their FB page for info - well there was no info and that is ridiculous to expect customers to check multiple sites before arriving.
We will not be coming back. Bad business model especially with the new local cafe competition. Try the Victoria Park Social Club instead!
Great food, great location and the staff are extremely friendly and accomodating and made us feel very welcome. Nothing was too hard for them.
Such a nice spot to chill after a long walk through the park. Really enjoyable breakfast and we even got to get a photo with Stu Ogrady! Will be back for sure!
Perfect place for families with young kids.
We could have our coffee while watching our kids play in the play equipment right in front of us.
Because of miscommunication we had a little problem last time we were there and we were offered complimentary coffees this time because of that. We really appreciated it!
Bonus fact that you can also use bicycles and scooters outside after you've had enough of the indoors play area.
Fantastic play cafe for kids and adults. Good food, good service and a great playground. Pack some bikes or cars for the kids and let them tire themselves out afterwards on the race track.
Wife and I came for a saturday lunch. Friendly staff, reasonable range, and tasty food. Looked good to eat. Function in adjacent room was noisy and that spilled out, the noise was less good! Orange juice nice. Good to see Grandstand used and all the people being active in the Park!
Lovely place. Had my kids' birthday party there. Lovely service and staff were very helpful
A lovely coffee was had here, a great play area for the little kids to play in a separate room.
Disabled parking but 8 steps down to cafe which has a railing also outside area which overlooks the oval.
Friendly staff, however their 'large' is smaller than a medium coffee that I've seen anywhere. On top of that they charge 5.20 for it! Not good
We love the Velo Precinct for the kids play area. It’s not like other play cafes, a cozy space where you can get proper delicious cafe food & a play area small enough to be able to supervise from the seating area.
Very disappointed - coffee was terrible - watching the barista - didn’t even put new coffee and reused the last customers coffee grind. The barista must of been having a bad day.
Very awesome venue. Go there often. Great food and drink. Highly recommend. Great party venue too!
Fabulous, never been before, never knew their was a Cafe hidden in this grandstand. We came here for a 3rd Birthday, we were in the private function area with a large indoor kids play area, with a slide, trampoline and some climbing it was fabulous to keep the kids entertained the food was fabulous also, we will definitely come back for a brunch one day.
Great for cycling with the kids. It’s a nice little bit of race track with lots of parking, a decent grand stand, and some cafes. A nice relaxing morning activity.
Celebrated my twins 21st birthday at The Velo and what a success it was! The venue is great, the staff were attentive and professional and Anne Marie is the most accomodating person I’ve ever met! Not only did she give us access to the cafe the day prior to the event so that we could hang up 100’s of fairy lights but she also allowed us to store all sorts of 21st paraphernalia in the store room. Also been to The Velo for brunch which was delicious, great place to visit.
Great food, friendly service and outdoor seating with a beautiful view overlooking the parklands and city.
A neat cafe tucked in the old grandstand in Victoria park. It has a cool bike theme. Some stories of biking history out of Adelaide are on some walls. A must see
Popped in for lunch during the week. Had never been here before. Stunning building and room with loads of potential. Unfortunately when we opened the door we were met by the screeches of a large number of toddlers! What? Half of the place has been sectioned off as a creche of sorts. It was very loud. No wonder there were no other diners in the cafe. Food was ok. But the level of noise that so many little kids made while I was trying to enjoy a catchup with a friend was disturbing. I doubt either of us will be back.
Review is about the Wings for life run location. Just needs a few tweaks and everything will be fine.
