The Switch Adelaide Central reviews
12 Just so so and not recommend.
If it wasn’t mentioned by my friend, I wouldn’t have been writing details for more students to reference. I lived for one year and Chinese receptionist, deducted cleaning fees before leaving. But I had photos to prove the room's details.
Also, I chatted with my friends and roommate who lived here before and they still do not recommend it here. After I left here and I heard my roommate told me nobody cleaned my room.
It's okay to stay here for short trips, but it's pretty annoying and expensive to stay here for long periods, especially hygiene.
Amazing team, perfect location, clean and comfortable studio, roof top with breathtaking view, the place to be in Adelaide for long Or Short stay!

Excellent property and very convenient location. Front desk staff is extremely efficient and helpful, amenities were great and the property is clean and has a fantastic old time charm.
The Switch is spectacular for students and people who like to live in the city. They have plenty of common areas to play and share, a kitchen to share. In general, everything is fine. I just think that the size of the rooms could be improved (make them a little bigger), especially those that will be for two.
Thanks for all Switch Team!:)
It was better than expected, the facilities are well kept, the staff are friendly and the people are very chill.
I suggest try to avoid this place, The Switch Adelaide Central. Location&View is good, the room is record-breaking-small, and it's relatively expensive.
-For short period accommodation/hotel-like, it is not cost effective (Admin employees booking f/accommodation, please don't do that to your colleague! Tourists, suggest booking somewhere else)
-For not so short period accommodation, it's too expensive. Even if you factor Break Lease costs.
Not only it's awful in terms of cost-effectiveness, it's also risky.
I forgot my wallet when doing Laundry (they don't clean nor provide spare linens) and my Credit Card information was stolen (2 weeks later: I'm still dealing with unauthorised expenses and waiting for the card replacement).
Of course, this review is not the way for solving problems, but I was unsuccessful on getting any response from The Switch.
Instead of help they only replied with spam (advertising).
And I tried 3 different communication channels.
Finally, I should clarify that there still are a few things more that are unpleasant, and a few things more that are interesting.
However, I think the place is bearable for a maximum of two nights.
Been here for two weeks and it’s made moving and living in Adelaide easier then I could’ve imagined
Great facilities, friendly & helpful staff and an unbeatable view especially up in the Sky Lounge!
Wonderful lovely place to live. Management always strives to perfectionism
Only issue with the rooms is sound isolation is lacking between rooms, sounds travel easily in-between shared apartment rooms
Great student accommodation! It was a pleasure from check-in to check-out. The staff was very friendly and provided service in both Chinese and English. Right in the city center, both transportation and life are very convenient. I forgot my backpack when I checked out. It took me two days to remember that there were very important documents in it. I was so worried that I didn't sleep all night. I got up early to look for it and found it again. Thank you very much!
I was lucky enough to move in on the day the building opened and stayed 3 months while I was working at Adelaide Festival Theatre on the Frozen tour. I’d booked from interstate and had only seen online pics and feared the worst because the pricing was too good to be true. I was stunned on arrival to see such magnificent interiors, the shared spaces, kitchen, gym, laundry and especially the top floor has the best view of Adelaide city and it’s just part of your house is what really blew me away. You can watch the sunsets over the coast every afternoon from there! I was so happy to have such a modern apartment right in the centre and most pleasant part of the city. All appliances and facilities are brand new and well maintained and clean! The highlight for me was definitely the staff. Everyone knows your name and tries to make your home life as pleasant as possible. Very personable and do the extras to make any problem you have disappear. I was sad to leave the joint. Can’t recommend it enough!
I had an amazing stay at the switch! Very friendly and helpful staff! The rooftop is amazing and is overlooking the entire city. I am also a big fan of the honesty kitchen (the kitchen has lots of things to purchase - you just grab what you need and pay over the app). Can definitely recommend!
