The Stunned Mullet reviews
84Always a delight when we visit Adelaide each year. This place is on our top 5 things we must go to
Wanted to like this and drove extra distance to give it a try on our holiday Paid high end prices ($50 for 2) but the delivery was disappointing. Grilled fish was left sitting before the rest of the order was processed and was cold on eating. Food was unsalted after requesting salted and there were no lemon wedges. It’s an easy fix just, think if you’re going to be pricey then you need to deliver a high quality product.
Fish, potato fritter, calamari rings were delicious. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Travelled from Nth East area and will go back again.
Easy to see why Stunned Mullet wins Best Fish & Chips in SA.
Exceptional food and such lovely staff.
I had the seafood dish for one. The food was pretty decent. The fish, prawns, and calamari were nicely battered and crisp.
However, the chips had one big issues. I requested salt on the chips when asked, but there must have been a mixup because I received no salt with my chips. So while the chips were adequately crisp, and not too oily, I was stuck eating mouthfuls of unsalted chips. This was not a pleasant experience.
The only redeeming factor about this specific issue was that the pack came with a relatively generous tub of tartare sauce that I dipped some of my chips in.
The owner is super nice and kind. Introduce us the menu in the beginning cuz we are the first time when there. The seafood was really fresh and crunchy. Chips are so good as well. Everything was nice and delicious. Definitely gonna go back! We are four people. All of us like it! Thumbs up up up
Good fish and chips. I had whiting. It's a pity that our iconic favourite SA fish is so expensive everywhere now.
Seriously over priced! Yay for using SA fish but Jesus the chips are over priced! I had high hopes but I’m afraid I won’t be a repeat customer
The food and service certainly did not disappoint! The lady who served us recommended 2 fishes to try and we loved it! The best fish and chips in Adelaide definitely. Love the homely vibes!
The fish was amazing, but for the family deal to only get one small tub of tartare sauce with an extra 12 prawns was a bit disappointing. The rest of the food was okay but not the best
As usual, polite, friendly, prompt with order & service.
Well done to all involved.
Just ate the best fish and chips at Stunned Mullet. Crunchy almost buttery chips, crunchy batter on the fish, NOT GREASY. The lovely lady who served me was very helpful too. I totally recommend this fish and chip Cafe.
$95 for 5 pieces of fish, a steak sandwich and asked for $20 worth of chips that was literally 2 handfuls. What the actual?
Food is always great quality, service is outstanding and pasta salad is best in Adelaide…… only improvement would be if Dino agreed to go back to hand cut potatoes for the chips!
Then 5 stars it would be
Currently 4 and 3/4’s but can’t do that here
$17.00 for a tray of chips that was apparently the ‘largest’ size, absolute robbery. $65 in total for three meals and a chips to share.not sure when getting dinner from a chip shop got so expensive? Chips were also extremely average with no salt.on a positive note seems like a nice family business and the calamari was good however the prices are not worth the quality - especially the chips.
The best freshest seafood basket we've ever had. Love the fact that the seafood is fresh and on display. Generous serve and amazing.
Great people and food, we dine often, Wonderful to have them back after a well earned holiday!
I honestly feel these are the best chips in Adelaide and have been a customer for years now, well worth the 40 minute or so drive. There’s many decent Fish and Chip stores around Adelaide to be sure and we personally made it our mission to try out many of those voted best online, but the quality of the chips, the chicken salt they use and the fantastic quality of their seafood (especially the scallops) just stands above all others in our opinion.
Great menu, friendly service, minimal waiting time and food was excellent! Really tasty. We will be back!
