THE SPOT ON MELBOURNE reviews
41I always visit the spots for lunch and brunch dates with my gf and never has been let down by the service and food here. Yesterday we come back for dinner as we heard the news that it has been re-opened for dinner. The dinner menu is a must-try. I highly recommend the grilled lemongrass maryland. We didn’t order alcohol and our bill in total was under $45 per person. (We were stuffed and tbh, that price is pretty good giving the fact that it locates on Melbourne street and the atmosphere was fantastic). I would rate my experience 10/10.
The only good thing about the restaurant is their interior design because the staff was incredibly rude. Even if you tell them that you have a peanut allergy, they still serve you peanut and are willing to replace their mistake. In addition, if your bill is supposed to be $16.9 for the Vermicelli Bowl, somehow I was charged $20.20. Overall, I do not recommend this restaurant because of their poor business practise.
Easily the worst banh mi I have ever attempted to eat. Processed meat with a disgusting flavour. Never. Again. Yuck.
These people really know how to generate repeat business. Very nice food, friendly attentive staff. Even our 2 dogs were catered for while we enjoyed a coffee in the Al Fresco area outside while waiting for friends.
We will be back!
I rarely speak bad of a restaurant experience, However I'm too honest for my own good. My dine in experience was pretty ordinary due to staff making me feel like I was a chore. I think Thier target market is probably Gen Z. The food was pricey and to be honest I've had better Pho from Melbourne Victoria.
Great Pho Bo, lovely sides, pork crackling roll looked good but nearly no crackling, which was disappointing. Nice cafe atmosphere.
Food was of good quality. $5 for roast pork with the fried rice was ridiculously overpriced. $1 per tiny piece of pork. An absolute ripoff for the quantity versus price paid.
The inside feels closely similar to retro Saigon cafe atmosphere. Love the food, nicely plated that I quickly dine and forget to take pics every time. The people is super nice and friendly. Definitely one of my fav spots.
Randomly wandered into here for a work lunch and was so pleasantly surprised by the food! One of the better brunch/lunch spots in Adelaide city I’d say with such a variety of Vietnamese food and drinks on the menu. I had the bun bowl with crispy roast pork and it was delicious!
Found a little Vietnamese gem in this area and it didn't disappoint. Ordered the mini pho combination (wish it had a little more meatballs/tendon in it) and the roast pork bun bowl. Price was fair, place has lots of tables and spaces. Friendly staff.
We ordered almond milk latte and received normal milk ones. We returned them and requested almond milk again and for the second time they prepared our cofees with lactose free milk. We returned the coffee and asked for a refund. That was a very negative experience. There was no respect for dietary requirements. We would never go there again.
For a mid-week lunch, The Spot is a good option on Melbourne street. We shared a serve of spring rolls that were piping hot and the cold rolls freshly made. The soup was nice but could have done with out the Chinese broccoli but overall a nice lunch.
I don’t normally post reviews but have to say communication at this joint is next level. Ordered a combo pho through Uber eats but a combo bun bowl arrived instead. Rang the restaurant to query and they amended my order and sent me combo pho personally. Tasted amazing. Worth the wait. Thanks guys.
Bun is average. The beef pho is not good, no
Flavor and quite small. Remember to double check your order with staff because they always turn a deaf ear to you. No service.
This is my favourite Vietnamese place. Everything is light and good. The frontignac wine is a perfect complement to the food. And the service is pleasant. And it is spacious and airy.
Was told about this place about a month or so ago. Awesome food. Bao buns are amazing. Had the soft shell crab salad today. Sooooo good. Do yourself a favour and come here.
Not fresh, I ordered a few bahn mi's. Bread seemed old the 'bbq pork' was literally a sausage chopped up. Awful. I have eaten a lot of Vietnamese in Australia and Vietnam but never have I been served up a sliced up sausage as bbq pork. The meat of the other bahn mi's was also poor quality. Don't recommend.
Food was excellent, the place is clean and cosy. If you have a group it's probably better to call and reserve a table. They look popular and you don't want to miss out. Thoroughly enjoyed their meals, well seasoned and just yummy. The service was good so I would definitely come back here regularly.
Popped in for a coffee.
Only place really open on a Friday evening around 8.30pm.
Friendly staff, nice environment
I came here for dinner with my friends. Really nice food, quick and friendly service. Their grilled duck and fried chicken are the best and must try.
