The person serving behind the bar was coughing while making coffee, didn't put hand over his mouth, the toastie was lovely. Couldn't drink the coffee as we were put off, he didn't make the toastie so was ok to eat.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting "The Port Anchor Hotel, " specifically the gaming pokie bar, and I must say, it was an incredibly engaging experience. The moment I stepped into the pokie room, I was greeted by a sense of excitement that permeated the air. The room itself was immaculately clean, creating an inviting atmosphere that immediately put me at ease.

The array of gaming machines was truly impressive, each one carefully selected to offer a diverse and entertaining range of options. As I tried my luck at the pokies, I found myself captivated by the seamless gameplay and the thrill of each spin. The machines were well-maintained and operated flawlessly, enhancing my overall enjoyment.

What truly set "The Port Anchor Hotel" apart, however, was the exceptional staff. The team members were not only knowledgeable about the machines and games, but they also exuded a genuine warmth and enthusiasm that made my experience truly memorable. Whether it was offering helpful tips or simply engaging in friendly conversation, their presence added an extra layer of enjoyment to my time at the pokie bar.

In summary, my visit to "The Port Anchor Hotel" gaming pokie bar was a delightful and captivating adventure. The excellent pokie room, combined with the cleanliness, quality machines, and the welcoming staff, created an environment that was both inviting and exciting. Whether you're a seasoned pokie enthusiast or a newcomer looking for a memorable experience, I highly recommend giving "The Port Anchor Hotel" a visit.

Haven't been for a while there and was positive surprised by the better quality, taste and presentation of the typical pub food.

The Pokies room as always very busy and clean.

Stuff is excellent!

It is a local pub with relaxed atmosphere.
Staff are friendly and accommodating.
Dishes are classic pub fare, perfectly prepared. Good value, too.
Edit: Returned again for a 3 generation family lunch. We had excellent service and everyone was happy with the meals. The squid schnitzel was the favourite (and one of the reasons we booked in there).
What looks like a modern building is actually quite old and was known as the Kent Hotel. It was modernised into an Art Deco building and a staircase still remains from that era. There are photos on the walls documenting how this hotel changed with the times.

They have been closed during the Covid ordeal but finally they have reopened, albeit on minimal customers and staff. They did not disappoint, as usual they have the best food and the friendliest staff, all for an extremely reasonable price. Highly recommended, can't wait for our next meal there. 6 stars out of 5!

We had lunch Tues 4/2/20. I had a T-bone, my friend had Lambs fry & Bacon both for $13.90 each beautifully done. Weve been before but this place is even better. I usually dread chips in hotels but these were the BEST Ive ever had! There werent many but Id rather have quality than rubbish.
Mushroom gravy had real mushrooms in it. Quality food outdoing many more expensive hotels. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!

A good little venue, the disappointment came from and over cooked steak and a bloke outside the venue yelling and going off at me for something that went wrong inside the venue that didn't involve myself at all.

We've been coming here for many years. The prices have gone up a bit in that time which is fair enough. However I would have thought that spending $40 on two meals including around 7 chips each and lettuce on the side that was rotten in places would have been enough to get a takeaway container without paying 50 cents?

To the management. Last time I took the time to make a review, I was generous based on judging it against other hotels in Port Adelaide.
To be honest, it was an average pub meal in an average pub.

Used to be a great pub with great value meals. Now the prices have gone up significantly and a $20+ basic meal comes with 8 chips or 1.5 icecream scoops of mash.

Is there a war on or potato famine somewhere in the world? The meals used to be reasonably generous, but now looks like they have come out of a soldiers ration pack!

On the plus side, the salad and veg bar is still good, staff are friendly and there are lots of menu items.

A relatively unrenovated good honest Port Adelaide pub with a couple of old fellas perched with schooners at the front bar and a shiny Bain marie.lambs fry for $12!
