We have stayed at The Playford several times a few years ago and always enjoyed our stay. This time we went for our wedding anniversary and were pleasantly surprised by a lovely card and bottle of wine on arrival for our anniversary.
The staff were ALWAYS friendly and welcoming with absolutely nothing being too much trouble.
The room was beautiful and very spacious.
We would highly recommend a stay here and will be coming back as soon as we can.

We had a lovely one night stay at the Playford, and we were very impressed with the recent renovation.
The gym, pool, spa & sauna were excellent.

Stayed the night for our birthdays and wedding anniversary. Fantastic room.
Perfectly located in the City, close to everything including the train station. Quiet room, didn't here anyone else at all.
Only thing I didn't like was the bed mattress, but everything else was great.
Wish we stayed for more than one night! But we'll be back there again for sure.

Magnificent hotel, excellent staff who provide brilliant customer service. Rooms exceeded expectations and the restaurant delivered exquisite meals, both in room and in the restaurant that has a fantastic ambience. I could not fault the Playford.

Was in quarantine for 14 days, service was good, however i didnt like the food. Dont know if it was prepared in the kitchen over there or ordered from some other place.

I quarantined at the Playford in March and although I was dreading the experience I ended up enjoying every second of my 14 days! The food was fabulous, plenty of space to exercise and the staff put on bingo, quiz and even a wine tasting. The double door to the balcony meant any outside noise could be blocked out so I could work. Cannot believe my luck to have been placed at the Playford.

I’m here to giving a five star rate for my mother, who did stayed at your hotel under 14 days of quarantine requirement. She doesn’t speak English with the overseas background. But hotel room was clean and nice, the staffs were friendly as well as the foods were fresh and delicious, overall she had a good experience in this hotel that left her so comfortable.

Had the privilege to call this place home for my 14 days quarantine. The staff is wonderful and the food is amazing! What a treat it was to stay here.

I am currently in my last days of quarantine at the Playford Adelaide but the service and quality of care deserve to see the light of a worthy review.
In most occasions there is always 'that one person', you know the one I am talking about, the difficult one, the one that demands the strangest things at the most inappropriate times, the one that needs things no ordinary sane person would ever even consider. As it happens in this instance I just happened to be 'The One', and not in a Trinity-Neo Matrix Save The World kind of way.
It is not my intention to be difficult, but medically and dietary demands had dreading my stay in Quarantine. Let me explain:
I have asthma, a skin allergy and I am also on a Ketogenic diet to deal with my allergies, yes life can be hard to handle sometimes.
And so it came to be that I was allocated a room at the Playford Adelaide.
I had previously been in other MediVac hotels in Adelaide and my experiences where less than ideal, indeed in one of them (not mentioning any names) I was given a room without a balcony, window, or any fresh ventilation of any kind, it also faced a multi-storey car park where construction work was happening and furthermore I had no idea if it was day or night.
From 6am-6 pm commuters parking their vehicles on the 4th floor of said parking would be treated to a view of a semi-clad Jet-lagged insomniac pasted to her room window in an attempt to ascertain what time of day it might be without resorting looking at any kind of technology, which I happened to unplug an attempt to extinguish ambient light that seemed to leak out every single item in the room. Yes you could say I was restless somewhat. In fact I was literally climbing the walls.
Furthermore the food was something someone would find lurking in a tip on Saturday morning after mass revelries, served in Styrofoam packaging that if left too close to any open flame could spontaneously combust. Most of the times it was also dead cold. It was 14 days of pure hell.
Having to repeat the same nightmare again left me nearly paralysed with fear but family commitments meant that this was unavoidable, and so I found myself at the Playford, but 9 days into my Quarantine I have this to say: Wow.
The service, the food, the actual size of the room, the delicious Juliet balcony, the amazing bed, the larger than average bath with an actual bath tub and the staff that cater to almost everything you can ever ask for, these things and more make the Playford exemplary, indeed it almost feels like a spa break rather than Quarantine.
I get it, being on a Keto Diet leaves others perplexed as to what exactly it is you can eat, but no problem here for Adelaides best chef, in fact I look forward to every single meal that is specifically designed to meet my dietary needs, and everything tastes De-liscious!
I also speak to the staff at reception on a daily basis relevant to little annoying things that are, unfortunately required, but my gosh Brooke, Melissa and Reese have been absolute angels! No request is too great, I even misunderstood the process of linen exchange but the staff did not have a qualm about instantly rectifying my mistake when I called to enquire about fresh towels.
Did I mention the bath? It's huge.
Twice a day there are exercise programmes on the Hotel channel, with what seem to be live streams of actual fitness trainers, a far cry from the generic fitness tape on loop at the previous hotel. I actually look forward to joining in and am grateful for this as it keeps the body and mind active and healthy.
I would love to visit this hotel when this crisis is over, the quality of the fixtures and the decor of the rooms is something worth mentioning too. Diligently cleaned and tastefully decorated this also happens to be one of the most boutique hotels I have ever stayed in.
Thank you to everyone at The Playford Adelaide, for making a difficult situation more than bearable, in fact it is almost a down right pleasure to be here.

Lucky to be calling this lovely place "home sweet home" for 15 days (during my hotel quarantine). I confess I was not looking forward to spending Xmas on my own locked up.but that means I don't have to share my yummy desserts with anyone! Great food, very comfy room and amazing staff! Highly reccommended!

I visited The playford hotel recently during the Covid 19 pandemic. Unfortunately I was not able to leave my room, however due to the hotel being a 5 star hotel I thought it would be fine. Little did I know I was wrong. They had a total of 5 options for food and French fries was one of them. And btw wasn’t that good. The kitchen opens at 7 and closes at 9 so from 9 till 6: 59 am you can starve for all they care. The breakfast was nice however for some reason everyday the breakfast would start at a later time and I am a person who prefers to wake up early around 5 am. I thought I would be able to eat breakfast by 7 but they didn’t open till 8. All in all hotel is beautiful but I would hate to be stuck there. It’s a prison. A nice looking prison with prison food.

I spent 2 weeks here on quarantine and it was fabulous. The rooms were spacious and well apportioned, the staff was friendly and professional and the food was great. Worth a return visit after covid.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Playford Hotel, for preparations of my wedding day and wedding night. The North Terrace facing suite is thoroughly equipped for all things required for bridal preparations and I really appreciated the amount of space. The staff were so warm and welcoming. There was one gentleman, whose name I cannot remember but he was simply outstanding in service, he kept a smile on his face always and was genuinely willing to help. All the staff I had interactions with were just brilliant and encompass what a 5 star experience truly is. I was spoilt. The breakfast I received to my room on the morning of my wedding was fresh and truly delicious.

My only criticism is that the staff kept saying that there was a complimentary upgrade of my room to a North Terrace facing loft suite, when they infact charged me for this. My only other complaint is there was a sealed diabetic needle on the floor in my upstairs bathroom. I did report this to the staff on checkout, as if a child had found the needle it could've been dangerous. The staff took this very seriously. Regardless, I was so impressed with my stay that I will definitely be back, and Playford will now be my hotel of choice.

This is a lovely hotel in an excellent location. The restaurants of leigh and peel sts are less than a 5 min walk. The staff are all extremely friendly and helpful in answering any questions. The bed is one of the more comfortable I've slept in for awhile with great linen and a pillow menu. Highly recommend

No view from the room we were at and the room was very small and a weird triangular shape,
but the main hall looked very nice and the place was nice and clean

I ordered a salad specifically without the dairy based dressing and then my entre came out missing ingrediants listed on the menu and extra dairy added. Hopeless.

The best of the best. Need I say any more. Run by a family I believe and it shows. They treat you as you should be treated. Well done Playford.
