The Monastery reviews
14Stunning property. Beautiful function space, with catering & accommodation. Lovely staff that provided a wonderful experience. Our group thoroughly enjoyed our weekend and are looking forward to many more here. Thank you
Multiple room function centre with live in accomodation if needed. Serene garden setting and fantastic facilities run by a passionate professional team.
St Raphael's School is blessed to have such a strong relationship with our Parish at the Monastery. Our most recent visit during Mercy Week was a wonderful day spent under the guidance of Father Denis, Sue Schulz and the Parish team. As a school community we celebrated Mass together to conclude our Mercy Week celebrations and also engaged in a variety of activities in the beautiful Monastery grounds. The sun was shining, and we explored the gardens, planted seeds, fed the chickens, picked fruit, had a tour of the historic buildings, listened to a presentation by Annie from Catholic Charities, played lacrosse and decorated butterflies.
We are so fortunate and blessed to have strong and positive links with our local parish.
Wonderful Station Of The Cross self guided Garden here for reflection and prayer. Plenty of parking available on the adjourning oval on Good Friday.
Beautiful gardens. $55 high tea was just OK. Nice food but not enough of it and definitely not enough staff resulting in slow service. The scones were tiny, 1/10th of the size of the scones in photos on the website, and we ran out of jam.
Always enjoy visiting The Monastery when I do go to Adelaide.
Great community of priests that really care.
Comfortable class room, catering is wonderful. The garden are beautiful for a stroll at break time
Spiritual and peaceful place to be with. Their Sacred Garden is a must to visit and say a prayer. Their Church is beautiful and their memorial and cemetery garden is profound.
I love visiting this Monastery specially during lent. Nice to do the Station of the Cross outside in the garden. You stroll around the garden while doing the big Statues of The Station of the Cross. Solemn place to do meditation and praying.
The serene, well kept garden next to the monastery is the section I have frequented the most over the years. It's a combination of botanical reserve and place of peaceful reflection. The path is lined with beautiful sculptures depicting the stations of cross, a feature especially significant during the Christian celebration of Lent. If visiting not specifically for Lenten proceedings, it is best to avoid the place at that period as it become very crowded.
The Sacred garden follows a path around past immaculate marble statues showing stages along the way to crucifixion.
The final uphill, uneven, broken brick path to the crucifixion, i felt, was clever analogy.
A lovely place of worship filled with peace and tranquility. Also beautiful grounds to observe nature at its best.
Never went there was sitting in traffic on crossroads. I am giving it a 3 star coz it looks nice
Always enjoy visiting The Monastery when I to to Adelaide.
Great community of priests that really care.
