Had a lovely tasting led by Luke, an excellent host, really informative and knowledgeable but also chilled. Nice pairing with food and the outside ambience is beautiful, we will be back

Great location, good quality food, but the tiniest of portions. Sourdough was $9 a portion and there was one tiny slice cut into two, there was literally three times more butter than bread, I was embarrassed for the server. Unfortunately the same goes for the wine, good quality but a glass was less than a free sample at a winery down the road. Disappointed

We went for lunch on a weekend. The food was delicious and we would highly recommend this place.

It was my mother's birthday and I asked the server if she could do something special for the desert; maybe pop a candle on or something else. She agreed and then the desert came out plain. It would have been nice if she could have informed me that nothing was possible. I was left confused and a bit let down. Special occasions then can be handled a bit better.

Heads up - if you are going with a toddler, they are not allowed to leave their table and walk around inside, so as not to disturb other guests.

Wow what an amazing experience we had trying the degustation menu.
A huge shout out to Ben who looked after us through the afternoon, his wine knowledge was amazing, he was very detailed & wine serving timing impeccable.
To Tom & your team in the kitchen you should be so proud of what you delivered, and the surprise of the Brioche as first time try on us.we felt very special.
And the thank you gift at the end OMG.so good guys.keep it up!

Did the chefs table and was so impressed, service, wine and food was absolutely fabulous, couldn't recommend anywhere more highly. Will be back to try new seasonal menu soon.

We did the Chef’s Table and it was honestly the most incredible dining experience - food, service, wine. Impeccable! I would give it 100 stars if I could.

Such a terrible experience for us!
Walked into the tasting room and stood there for 5 minutes being looked at by the staff before even getting greeted.
Once getting greeted we asked for a table of 3 and said they were fully book (although we had seen an empty table), so we had to go outside.
Straight after being told that we had to go outside, a gentleman walked in after us and asked for a table. He was given the empty table we had already been told was booked.
Then waited an extra 5 minutes before anyone taking our order, and when the staff were asked question, they were extremely rude cut us off mid sentence and said how amazing it tasted when they didn’t even let us finish the question. Also when asked where the non-alcoholic menu was they didn’t even speak they walked away and flipped a clipboard and walked away
Then waited about 30 mins for them to bring us our cheese plate (which we had to go chase up ourselves), we then found out that they had forgotten about us and our food!

Could not recommend this place more! The staff are super friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. Massive thank you to Agnes and Dan who always make our experiences here one to remember. Great wine, great food, great atmosphere, can’t wait to come back!

Fantastic lunch here- very thoughtful menu. I did feel this was a situation where the wines really didn’t live up to the high food standards. The ambience is nice but just be aware that the restaurant is very noisy when full.

Wow! The view over the hills as you enter is spectacular and the experience only gets better. Wine tasting was fantastic. Our host was so knowledgeable and engaged, not to mention that we loved the range. One word… Lois! Lunch was delicious. Mains are best shared, especially the chicken (YUM) - though weren’t fans of the dumplings.

Always excellent. Every time we go there; be it for a tasting, lunch or an event, it's always great. The service, professionalism and facility are always top-shelf. Recently visited for a tasting and did the Gathering experience. Highly recommend this as it's not just a tasting like you would get at most other wineries. It is a sit-down experience with knowledgeable and attentive wait staff, accompanied with some amazing food to pair with the wines you sample. With the ambience and atmosphere created by the surrounds, it's a great experience. Thanks again team.

The cellar door was at capacity when we arrived, we grabbed a cold bottle, ordered some food and sat outside and enjoyed the beautiful day. Would definitely recommend the wines are well priced and also the highly recommend the food

Came to the restaurant for lunch - everything was immaculate and the food and wine pairings were phenomenal.
Our waiter was an absolute champ.

We were a part of a group of 6 and my husband and I were the drivers. We REALLY appreciated the drivers pairing option which made us feel like we weren’t missing out on anything while still making sure we weren’t being irresponsible.

Afterwards, we tried a few wines at the cellar door with Agnes and, as always, we were looked after beautifully. Try the Gamay, it’s wonderful!

Emma our host was amazing! Her knowledge of the area & wine and all round happy and bubbly personality made our tasting such a wonderful experience! From the moment we walked in to when we were seated and asking her recommendations she talked us through absolutely everything with such kindness and genuinely wanted to talk with us and get to know us. She was incredible to deal with. Thank you Emma for such a wonderful day! The wines are amazing and we sure came home with a few bags full. We will be back!

Clearly the best restaurant in the hills. 3 minutes out of Hahndorf. Stunning food. Wonderful service
