We've mainly been here to attend shows. Some drinks are well prices some are just ridiculous. Yummy cocktails.

I recently had my 30th party in the Howling Owls upstairs function room and had the best experience! The staff were so friendly and accomodating, and made sure everything ran smoothly. It was nice and simple, and great communication compared to others in the past! Gorgeous venue with great atmosphere, drinks and food. Guests loved it too. Thanks Howling Owl

Been coming here for years and recently had my engagement party here. Staff are incredibly friendly and vibrant. Rachel and Mick are fantastic owners and amazing people all round. Would recommend coming to this place for any function you may be thinking of holding. Even if it's just for a coffee, this place feels like the only place you should come to to unwind.

We booked The Howling Owl for my partners surprise 30th, and oh my goodness they were absolutely wonderful! Rachel and the team are amazing and helped create such a perfect event for us. They provide excellent service and communication, help a lot with organising the event, offer great prices and supported our fun theme. It was the best place to have a themed party as the owner (Rachel) was so happy to help with making the theme happen and also coming up with ideas about the theme and getting excited with us. Would definitely recommend: D

Cool little gin bar in Adelaide. The bar had a massive selection of gins, good music and a great vibe. Definitely recommend if you’re up for a few drinks.

I had my 30th birthday party here and everything was perfect! Such a cute space with great staff and the ability to provide our own catering. We organised some pizzas with the howling owl as well and they were delicious. Rachel made organising everything so easy, she was very friendly and is incredible at her job! Will definitely be visiting again!

I like this place's drinks menu, but I was pretty frustrated with my experience on a winter night recently. It was freezing cold outside (with heater on inside) and my friend and I were regularly getting up to close the front door after people coming or going regularly left it open. We even changed to a different table at one point when one became available further from the door but the cold was still an issue. I saw many other patrons get up to close it too, as otherwise the cold was felt throughout the ground floor. Please just install a simple door closer mechanism and massively improve this experience.

Very rude service. Didn't honour happy hour even though we were 1 minute before it ended. Wouldn't recommend.

Visited this bar for a fringe show.seemed to have a great cocktail menu and atmosphere here was great.

I stumbled upon this beautiful place. It has a very nice atmosphere. I loved the variety of cocktails, my favorites are those with Gin and here I found a wide range. Service isn’t good or bad, it’s just average. Although my table was dirty and no one went to clean it. Maybe I understand that they should serve people since this place is usually very busy, but at least clean the tables.
Well, despite the service, I liked my drinks and if you're around, don't hesitate to visit this place.

Our group had the most fantastic night here recently…. We watched the funniest comedy show, had lots of delicious cocktails and shared a selection of pizzas and cheese and dip boards….
We were SO well looked after by Rachel and all her team, the cocktails were made really quickly and the atmosphere was great!
Can’t wait to go again!

Nice venue. Yummy mocktails. Interesting artwork. An owl here and there cleverly introduced in design. Parking not far. Private function rooms. Staff lovely x

Hosted a professional event here with excess of 100 people in attendance. We were extremely disappointed with the attitude of the staff on the night. Attendees were told off for "crowding" the bar upon entry, despite there being no other place to stand as people waited for their name to be checked off of an attendance list. Other attendees witnessed eye rolling and sighs from the staff running the bar when they asked for specific drink orders. Our music director was rudely told to no longer enter the room where his phone was playing music "in case he steals liquor stored in the room". He had to enter the room multiple times to turn the music on and off for frequent speeches, awards and announcements, which was fine according to the Howling Owl manager before the event. The employee's comment was completely unreasonable. Another attendee was beginning to make an announcement, when the microphone was rudely snatched out of her hand by one of the staff members and they yelled "NO" at her. The attendee believed this was because she picked up the microphone when music was playing and the staff member may have thought she was mishandling it. Nonetheless, this staff member was completely out of line and could have spoken to the attendee respectfully. This made the attendee very upset to the point of crying. We ended up cancelling the announcement because we did not want the ordeal to ruin the night. We could go on about further disappointments that the Howling Owl caused on the night. Our attendees were not drunk, nor rude or dissrespectful at your venue, so we expect your staff to be the same. Our business for future work events will be taken elsewhere.

OMG you need a place to try rare and up and coming gins this is the place.

The cocktail knowledge is very good, especially with gins, if you have plans to go to the cinema, enter this place first and enjoy an excellent cocktail.

Recently had a work function here, amazing experience! The service we got before the function and then during was top notch! Delicious food and a wonderful atmosphere. Highly recommend

The Howling Owl has a great atmosphere and is friendly and cozy downstairs. However, I'm leaving a review after hiring the mezzanine as a venue for a friend's hen's/bridal shower. As mentioned by other reviewers, Rachel, the owner/manager and her partner Mick, were amazing to work with! Rachel was so responsive and helpful and super adaptable with lots of suggestions in accordance with our budget and different things we wanted - especially for someone like me who hates organising events, she made it really painless. All the staff I met whenever I dropped by + on the night were also great. We didn't have to decorate much because the venue itself is already so nice, but they were also very accommodating around decor set up and collection which made things super easy, and of course such a great location - was perfect for botanic gardens beforehand and other bars after! Will definitely be recommending it for anyone looking for a venue in the city for any event in future!

Extremely overrated. The staff mope around like they'd rather be anywhere else but serving you, and the food is so ridiculously overpriced that you'll need to experience it to understand.
