The Gym Glenelg

The transition from an independent gym to a revo has been appalling. Constant promises of improvements that never happen and classes cancelled all over the time-table. Dirty stinky rest rooms and group fitness space. Terrible customer service for its long term members - I guess it’s cheap.

I became a member about a month ago and it might be one of the worst gyms I've ever seen in my life, the showers are extremely dirty. The dirt in this picture has been there for about ten days, the angles of the machines are very bad, we can easily get injured, most of the machines are missing parts, I have been looking for parts inside for hours, I am not happy at all.

Been a member here since the beginning. Equipment is good but no one is enforcing the towel rule or the need to wipe gear down: . Super gross! Unfortunately I believe your front of house staff is destroying the business by giving poor customer service.

Ever since Revo took over The Gym Glenelg things have gone downhill. The facility used to be very clean and spotless with sanitising wipes to clean equipment. Now all they provide is a spray bottle and a “communal” cloth which is gross. They also cut the very popular Tuesday night yoga class and even though a LOT of people requested to have it brought back, it hasn’t been brought back. Other classes hardly get people coming anymore. I spoke to a staff member at the club and they said there’s a lot of red tape as decisions are made at head office in WA. They say they’ve reduced classes due to memberships numbers being down… they should have kept the club as a 5 star facility and now it’s a cheap/low cost facility and 2.5-3 star at most.

Latest update as 20 August 2023 considering manager response below: the management removed all hand sanitizer dispenser!? , can anyone imagine a gym with no hygiene facilities?

After joining i had a bad accident leaving me unable to attend gym so I contacted Revo Glenelg and was told I had to fill in a form available online. After several failed attempts trying to download the form I went in person to the glenelg gym and was told the manager was not in but that they would take all my details and make sure it was processed the next day.
They had my contact details if they needed any further information.
I assumed it had been cancelled as i was not charged again until yesterday when 2 months worth of fess were deducted.
On speaking to the manager she refused to refund the money and said there was no record of my cancellation and only the accounts dept could issue refunds but that there was no way to contact them and even she does not have any way to contact them. She magically cancelled my membership as of yesterday though when I was told they couldnt do that over the phone before and went all the way there with my injuries including a fractuted rib.
They claim you can cancel anytime, good luck with that.

Great atmosphere due to the previous owner, great trainers but such a poor communication, all of the sudden decided to change the time table, and I miss out on majority of the classes, it’s extremely sad because had to find another gym that can offer suitable hours

The manager is great and the gym is much cleaner since Revo took over. Excited to have all the new equipment soon when they do the renovations!

Worst gym ever. They are thieves. They tell you there is no lock in contract and never tell you that you have to give them a 14 days cancellation notice. They can not even send you the contract you “signed” because they don’t have it!

I cancelled my membership when the club was still The Gym Glenelg, after takeover by Revo my membership was suddenly reactivated without my consent resuming debits to my account. ‘No lock in Contracts’.
Revo Glenelg Manager Tayla shows clear lack of customer service refusing to refund because apparently it’s the customers fault Revo can’t keep records.

A well looked after gym, the gym is neat and tidy. The staffs are also approachable and friendly. The best gym in glenelg!

Great gym. Easy to sign up, easy to use. 24/7 access with fob.
Have had a few personal training sessions which were great.
Lots of different equipment to use, lots of variety like sled, monkey bars, battle ropes, TRX, rings. Really enjoy going. Have also done classes in the past which are all awesome, body pump, body attack and RPM are some of my favourites:)

Staff are excellent! Equipment is great! Plenty of room! Love the physio if you need it! Overall great gym I love it!

Was self conscious of joining classes with wide age differences but after 2 weeks look forward to every session thanks to amazing, non-judging trainers & friendliness of members! Also a big shout out thankyou to Chad (personal trainer) who never stops encouraging & pushing me to extend myself!

Super friendly, professional and helpful staff + trainers, always on hand to help, and make all members feel so welcome. The classes are fantastic and so well delivered by the trainers.

Great gym.large area with all the equipment you would ever need, so no restrictions during busy times.

Good gym with good amenities and friendly staff. Casual visits can be accommodated. Big gym with lots of different areas to work out in. Great location and a view out the windows. Overall a great place to work out.

Welcomed into gym with a smile which was very important to help relieve my anxiety at attending gym again after 30 years
