Moonta is one of the main Copper Triangle towns, so whether you visit here for the Cornish history, are touring, or just passing through, do yourself a favour and try a Cornish Pasty! I'm sure the rest of the pastries and other offerings at The Cornish Kitchen are great, but I will never find out - these are seriously the BEST Cornish Pasties that you will find anywhere (I'm reliably informed they're better that those in Cornwall)

The pastry is flakey and not too thick. No great big ends or top join of dry pastry to work your way through. The filling had so many great old fashioned veggies to add to the taste. And these pasties are FULL, the baker must have years of practice to get so much filling in without tearing the pastry case.

Were I to rate this Cornish Pasty it would need to get a a 11 out of 10 - perfect plus one for the friendly staff.

I would have added a photo, but it disappeared too quickly.

We really enjoyed the fresh, homemade pasties that we purchased from the Cornish Kitchen. They are very reasonably priced as well. We also bought some homemade apricot chutney, which went really well with our pasties.

We all went up to Moonta on Sunday for the ending of their Cornish Festival.we eaten Cornish pasties far and wide, but these new owners I must take my hat off.and tell them from six of us including one from Cornwell that he deserve a 10/10 and that being very modest.well done.

I've travelled Australia for 2 years now and this is one of the best bakery's I've been to, not the best but one of. They're extremely well priced and their sausage rolls are to die for. They'd get a sixth star if they used puff pastry with a few sesame seeds on top.

We live local and often stop in for lunch. A little annoying when it's 1.30 and they close half the sit down area and clean when your trying to have a peaceful lunch.

This used to be a great place, but now.
My pasty was tasteless, filled with finely diced frozen vegetables and perhaps three tiny pieces of minced meat about the size of my little finger nail.
A pasty is supposed to be filled with chunky vegetables and meat - but apparently not here.
We won't be back.

These are the best pasties for the price. A rather surprising twist with a tomato relish that had a splash of curry and chilli added with a sweetened tomato and onion base.

The relish is not traditional but works with the Cornish traditional pasty recipe.

This used to be a fabulous bakery. Pies and pasties soggy and collapse when you bite into them now.

Drove all the way up from Adelaide just to try a pasty and still had 10 minutes on the clock but they closed early. Judging some of the reviews, it sounds like I didn't miss much as its not an authentic Cornish pasty without the proper crimp and ingredients.

Great little shop. Our pasties were good. Well filled with tasty combination but could have been cooked for another 10-15 minutes as the veggies were just not quite cooked through. Otherwise they would have been 10/10.
Proprietors deserve to do well.

The staff are absolutely lovely, the food is heavenly and you'll keep coming back.

Glad I have bragging right having consumed many pasties in Cornwall. With the many publishing in the visitor center on how to make a traditional pasty you would think they would follow it. They choose to load it up with pumpkin and carrots. It might as well be vegetarian as if there were traced of meat, would have been sprayed with beef stock. Ladies, I know meat is expensive but follow tradition. People will be glad to pay for a good pasties even if you double the price. We paid 5 pounds for our pasties and they were delicious

The pasties, chips and coffee were all great. Service was lovely. I would definitely recommend this shop to anyone stopping by.

The worst Cornish Pasty I have ever had in my.life. Hunt the meat and pumpkin, carrot, potato and onion does not constitute a Cornish Pasty.
If you call something by it's name make it so. Stick a Bentley badge on a Toyota does not make it a Bentley.

The best traditional Cornish pasty I have had in Aus. For those that don’t know, a traditional Cornish pasty has very little meat and lots of vegetables. They could have had more sweed in them, but other that, it was very good
