The Astor Hotel reviews
51 Popped in today and bought 60 ml of Johnny walker red whiskey
$18 wow based on those prices you’re making 450% profit on a 700 ml bottle
No wonder the bar was empty at 3 pm
Disappointed
Great food clean and fresh and reasonable price staff are friendly and helpful great night out
Food is incredible here and the staff are amazing! Thank you for such lovely food and service!
Came here for lunch.a nice atmosphere, crispy hot chips and delectable hot chocolate.service was quick, only a 10 minute wait.
Food was tasty and great quality. Drinks were on the expensive end. $4.50 for a schooner of softdrink was ridiculous.
Had a rump steak for dinner on Friday night. It was very enjoyable except for tha garnish tax disguised as a salad. In fact I enjoyed it so much that I returned on Saturday night for the same minus the salad. Would recommend as good value for money.
Average place. Foods average. People behind the counter are average.not very friendly.do their jobs and go home. Overall ok.
My brother and I were warmly greeted. The Nachos and side salad were top notch! Fresh crisp ingredients. A superb lunch indeed
Pretty nice place to grab a cheap bite for lunch! The prices are reasonable compared to other pubs around whilst serving good quality food!
I only provide feedback honestly on my best knowledge and The Astor Hotel deserves a praise. The food was delicious and nicely priced.
I came back on 12/1/2023 and was not disappointed. The food was perfect!
We stayed here because we loved the look of the retro Palm Springs feel. Our room was behind the pub, we thought it was going to be noisy but it was actually quiet.
The room was just a room to sleep in.
Local pub with no nonsense food. If you ask for a schnitzel with gravy and chips, you get exactly that! Good to fill a hole on a budget or for a quick lunch.
Menu is relatively small and not particularly exciting as it's mostly standard pub fare.
Self serve chilled water tap in the dining room is welcome, and a good event space upstairs.
If you're after a quick meal on a budget, then this may be the place for you. If you want a bit of gourmet or a more comprehensive choice there are better food choices nearby.

Just held youngest daughter's 21st at the Astor after middle daughter 3 1/2 years ago. Belated as COVID struck so had to delay a month. Astor staff very accommodating with rescheduling. Once again great venue, friendly staff, great food and a fantastic night. Highly recommended for functions.
Good priced food. Sadly. Still got chips after not asking for them, so they ended up going to waste which was a shame. Will definitely be back.
Had my 21st at The Astor and corresponded with Kym and Julie over months after Covid had caused me to reschedule twice. They were very efficient and reassuring. Chloe and Bri were there on the night and were fantastic. Music was nice and loud, food was good and the staff were amazing.
The food is always quick and tasty! Exactly what you need from a local pub! The service is great, always greeted with a smile. Great price range, love that salad is extra with schnittys as the partner never eats it! Means you pay for what you get!
Customer service was not bad, and the food was excellent. However, the menu choices were not too much.
Good spot for an after work beer. What you'd expect from a pub in the city, classic menu items if you want food.
