The Anchorage Hotel

Great place for a quick small getaway, rooms were lovely, receptionist was great, told us about the slow hot water due to our room location which was good to know. ONLY thing i can say wasnt upto par was, we went on a long weekend we knew it was busy but we couldnt even eat in the restaurant coz it was fully booked out we wernt informed we had to reserve. A bit of a heads up when we booked in could have helped.we ended up ordering pizza which was probably cheaper. I think the staff was new as well as mixing a scotch and coke wasnt their strong suit as it was soda water and scotch. We also didnt get told what to do with our key on checking out, but we hoped leaving it in the door on departure was okay. Overall will definatly go again but a bit more prepared in future.

Food was average. Schnitzel was factory bought. Specials were small but still pricey. Get a serve of chips and a beer and sit out front, enjoy the location.

We popped in for a quick lunch and sat outside with our dog. The first table we sat at had fine shards of broken glass so we moved to another one which was in a lovely spot but the table was grubby. When I accidentally touched the sides of the table my white pants ended up with black marks: (Anyway, that aside, it's a gorgeous hotel overlooking the water with lots of shady areas to sit. The food took quite a while, despite us asking what was the quickest thing to order as we only had 30 minutes. It wasn't the kitchen's fault that they got slammed just as our order went in for two bowls of chips. Anyway, coffee was good and chips were hot, just slow to come out - 25 minutes for 2 bowls of chips, 1 coffee and two soft drinks.

Such a caring man at front desk, most welcoming and accommodating. Extremely quiet location and comfy bed, shower was divine. Thankyou…. Monday and Tues no meals so can’t comment but enjoyed our brief stay

We dined last night at this hotel. We ordered share seafood platter, and its value for money, fresh seafood and excellent service. We would definitely come back

Lovely hotel, the spas are absolutely amazing and right on the beach! Would definitely stay there again. The view of the sunrise from the balcony was awesome

Stayed over Xmas and had some issues getting in as it wasnt staffed that day. One phone call to the management and they helped instantly despite it being Xmas. Beautiful place, beautiful people and lovely town

Went there today, what rude service. Told by the lady at the front to go sit at a table as we were pulling out our chairs, a rude employee yelled at us from behind the counter not to sit down as it was taken. There was no sign or anything and she didn't offered any other table. Another employee came up and offered us another table. We felt quite embarrassed and walked out. Been here many times but I will never come back, maybe the employee behind the counter should learn some customer service. Very disappointed.

Easy and friendly check in. Room absolutely lovely with beautiful views. Private balcony overlooking the water was amazing.
Loads of character and "a good feel".
Bar and bistro look great.
Would definitely rebook the room we had (room 26 spa room).

They were great at getting us a table at short notice, however food took over an hour to arrive after ordering, kitchen overwhelmed apparently, which seems odd give summer must be their forcasted peak in business.

Delicious meal, had beef MB and it was delicious, everything on the plate was cooked nicely, we also had fish and chip, calamari and few kids meals, they were all nicely done, even the side salad was so fresh! Everyone enjoyed the food and were really happy!

Very nice meal and customer service was a great venue and very close to the Cockle train (Victor stop) which was handy with 2 kids under 2.

Ordered a Pepperoni pizza tonight. Would have to rate as one of the most ordinary pizzas I have eaten. All cheese with a few thin pepperoni on top. Won't be back. Awful.

Place is garbage old an out of date food was disgusting literally every meal from the 17 at our table was really average would definitely NOT RECOMMEND

The staff were very helpful to make our stay comfortable. Only thing that I would change is for the staff to put more milk in fridge.

How wonderful are the staff here! So polite and accommodating ️ The Steak Sandwich was beautiful? Everything so fresh and perfectly cooked! The Chicken Caesar Salad was excellent (although the chicken would have been nicer warm) and the vino selection was great
The addition of a change table in the men's toilet is a sign of a really well thought out establishment to cater for families? Can't wait to come back in the summer time ️

The rooms were tired! Carpet was filthy but the view was great! It’s just far 2 old and needs a revamp desperately. Bathroom was nice and modern it had a funny smell and the hot water took 5 full minutes to get there. The best feature……lovely soft sheets. It’s so disappointing when you get to a hotel and it’s not what you expected!

Aaahmazing. The service, food and atmosphere. We had a bit of a wait because it’s a Saturday night but it was handled brilliantly and Henry is adorable and Liam is brilliant.

Had a light lunch, the salad accompanying the SnP Calamari had a dead fly. Not the best experience, staff weren't very friendly and made sure that diners knew who was having a seniors meal. Not very nice a bit of respect to the elderly.

Stayed 1 night but really wished we hadn't. This has to be the worst place I have ever stayed in, and I've been camping! The room was tiny, dirty, cold and falling apart! Only saving grace was the sheets were clean. The bed was rock hard and was on a tilt. The light fitting were hanging off the wall, the heater had a broken leg. You needed a heater because the the gap under the doors and around the rotten windows the wind howled through. Old dusty curtains meant the street light outside made it too bright to sleep. The bathroom was dirty and cracked tiles in the shower. It was very noisy too. Bar staff were friendly, but didn't eat there as was worried it thats was the state of the rooms what would the kitchen be like. I know its a cheap hotel but the place has no excuse for being in that state.

Zero stars if it was possible for customer service. The woman working behind the bar/coffee machine in the bistro today 11/06/22 at 5: 30pm was horribly rude and passive aggressive. We had booked a table for two for dinner, which was confirmed earlier that day over the phone. When we got there the place was booked out and they had not reserved a table for us. Upon first impression customer service was terrible, and the restaurant smelt very off and unclean. The woman offered us to sit outside in the cold, we left without hesitation as we do not want to put money towards a business where employees are extremely rude to customers.
Would not recommend, and this woman needs to be careful how she talks to people as she does not know what kind of day they may have had.
