The food was great, chips were beautifully crisp, and the store puncture the bag to let moisture escape so they don’t go soggy. The mac and cheese could have done with more salt and pepper but overall killer feed

Quite a few years ago an older couple owned this shop. While not the most enthusiastic service, the fish was fresh and the chips and potato fritters were nice and lightly battered. Since the older couple retired the shop went downhill immediately. It has never recovered. Now the batter is 2" thick, the fish is not fresh and the chips are all pre cut and pre blanched from a factory. Absolutely tragic. Been coming here on and off since 1973 and it's never been as bad as it is now and it's probably had several owners.

Ordered 2 loaded fries and one was so flooded with gravey it was more of a chip soup and the vego one was half the size and missing half the ingredients. Disappointed

Purchased a brisket pack. It is super delicious and a generous serving size compared to other BBQ places. I would definitely recommend it.

Brilliant chips. Some of the best around. They do excellent vegan burgers with crunchy falafels. Very filling. Friendly service. Busy place. Pays to order ahead.

All in all, thumbs up. Their slightly different approach has paid off.

Had the 3 tacos for 18- the garnish Taco rocked my world, chicken was amazing and beef was good.

A hotdog with the lot for 11 dollars is a great buy with a super presso and filling.

The wings are amazing but be warned you don't need many they are pretty heavy but delicious.

Great burgers and the loaded fries again are a SIZEABLE flavour journey. Take the bib.

Had the pineapple fritters tonight. They tasted like a pineapple donut - absolutely delicious. Their chips are always crunchy and nicely seasoned. Tonight I saw an array of salads I hadn’t seen before. Would have loved to try some but had already bought what I needed. Now if they could get their chickens and gravy as good as Stirling, I wouldn’t need to go to two shops.

I had the brisket pack and my partner just had a peice of butterfish and tabouli.
Flavours really delicious, chips smothered in house made bbq sauce brisket just a touch dry.

Good grief, it's dangerous knowing this place is on the way home. Their burgers are banging, their donuts are excellent, and the arcade machine and tunes set the ambience amazingly. Cool staff too: D keep up the amazing work!

Long gone are the days of a grumpy old lady serving very average fish and chips from the Aldgate Fish & Chip Shop.

Under new management this place is thriving and offers some of the best chippy-style food in Adelaide. Great atmosphere (including the Street Fighter arcade machine), friendly service and a wonderfully diverse and reasonably priced menu.

The food will speak for itself - the hot and spicy chicken burger recommended from the chef was absolutely outstanding. Genuinely on of the best burgers I've had in years. The chips were fresh, well cooked and paired perfectly.

Overall, a must visit for anyone passing through and a genuine staple for those lucky enough to live close by.

All in all, the best fish and chips that I've ever had. The crumb on the butterfish was crunchy as, probably panko crumb or a variation of it which was very enjoyable to bite into and chew on. The chips tasted delicious and were seasoned nicely with some sort of seasoning, but whatever seasoning they used, wasnt very salty at all which was great.

I suspect that they were freshly cut chips, not pre-bought flavourless chips that most places use these days. I also suspect, that the tartar sauce was made in-house, and was delicious as well. 99% of the time, when one is served tartar sauce, it tastes sweet and pretty much like mayo which I don't like much. Wasn't charged for the tartar sauce either as when the order was placed, my father and I didn't ask for it, which was very nice of the woman who served us.

The only reason that I decided to only give 4 stars, was due to the fish and chips being slightly over-cooked for my liking (my father didn't notice it so it was only something that I would've preferred cooked a little less).

Overall a really amazing place to grab a bite and I look forward to eating there again, even if I need to make a special trip there to do just that. They also sell some hot chilli sauces there which are made from a local near Macclesfield, who grows their own ingredients for the sauces, so I grabbed a bottle. This bottle has Carolina Reaper chilli in it so it definitely has some punch to it. Also delicious.and for $15, I think it's a fair price considering that not much is needed on the side for a decent chilli fix, paired with your meal.

Thank you for adding some more special memories to an already special occassion spent with my father.

Had lunch here yesterday, got steak and gravy loaded fries + potato salad, both were great. Friendly service too!

Awesome food and very fairly priced. I had the chicken burger with Halloumi and the tomato sauce that it comes with is one of the best I've had! Will definitely be a regular stop in for me:)

Good for a quick meal. However had a very disgusting donut, very greasy, overcooked and the wrong shape, hope they have improved on this particular product.

Great takeaway food, good variety and really tasty chips, unfortunately parking is a nightmare.

Ordered the mushroom burger and loaded veg fries tonight, both were so good! Mushroom burger was amazing with home made tartare. Seriously best burger I’ve had in ages. Always struggle to find a good veg one! Will be back
