Tavern 540

I was pleasantly surprised by the food and service at Tavern 540. I'm extremely local to the area but hadn't stopped by before, but headed in for a birthday dinner recently.
The portions (including the starters) were generous for the price, and were all really well cooked and tasty. We went for classic pub food (schnitzels/steaks), but the menu had lots of options. They also had a low carb menu. The service was also very fast and incredibly helpful and friendly.
I'm excited to go back to check out some of their specials.

Underdale High original 1965 students reunion. 30 of us had a tressel with various items like party pies, sausage rolls, salads, cheese, fruit, shaslicks etc. A nice smorgasbord.

Went for lunch and had the $18.90 300gm rump. Was delicious and the service was good. Highly recommend Tavern 540, I'll be back for sure.

Love this place for low carb / Keto options that are even better than the real thing. Others ordering off the regular menu have been really impressed too. Great value and always leave feeling well satisfied. Pity the pokies are within eyesight but that's the only downside.

We have been to Tavern 540 a number of times and it has been very good it is a great environment to gather with family and or friends. Very good food and service. It has become a gathering place for our extended family. Half way between Gawler and Seacliff, just off the expressway on Port Road. We will be going again soon

The place was very clean you couldn't even smell the alcohol smell you get at other hotels, the staff was really nice, The food was amazing and came out fast and was very fresh. I will go there again.

Thanks so much to Jodie and Jess who both provided me with a massive smile and great customer service tonight. I can see they both are very passionate about their jobs.
As a customer I look forward to coming back to 540 to see them both and enjoy their company and great service in the very near future.

It's clean. The staff I met were nice. I had a chicken schnitzel with mushroom sauce, chips and salad. It was very nice. My friend had a rice ball thing. She said it was different to what she was use to (no italian sauce inside the ball only cheese) but it ok. My other friend said her meal was ok. My cappuccino was fantastic. Real froth on top. Yum.

If you go here to want to win money on the pokies than boy are you going to be upset.
The lightning links machines are the worse non paying machines on offer.
I have seen people win nothing after betting low for hours.

Lots of people losing and very little amount wining beyond what they came in with.

Sometimes I wish this and other places would be banned for operating machines that take very often.

Nice staff, will never question you if you're at the machine for hours without food or drinking anything. So much for "don't feel offended if they question your gambling".
Enables true dispair in the community.

My high school friends and I come here late at night when we can't be bothered going to the city.

Hands down best keto menu in Adelaide. I’ve tried a number of the meals and they’re all great. Awesome desserts and low carb cocktails also.

Drove out all the way there. Double checked that they were open. Even the door shows they are open on Mondays only to be told they’re closed on Mondays.

Good value meals. Don't forget to ask for the seniors menu. Good coffee across the road at Prices as well. The service at 540 is excellent! Friendly and helpful staff.

Their full keto menu is brilliant! Can’t find anywhere else like it. My new favourite place. Food is great, lots to choose from. Thank you to the creative chefs for putting this menu together.

Five went for dinner, Wed night. Fish and chips OK but salad a little bony. Kitchen staff helpful but bar staff lethargic. Decor/layout OK, parking ample. Will give them another try.

Had a birthday celebration at Tavern 540 in February 2022, the food is good, it was fantastic that they also have a Keto menu as well. Would recommend
