Tandanya National Aboriginal Cultural Institute reviews
44Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful. Wonderful art and gift shop. Great to support local artists.
Was anticipating to see this museum however when i reached, i saw the notice that they are closed for business and will only return on 23rd Jan.there wasn't any announcement that they are closed on their website or facebook page.i was really disappointed as i would have planned other things if i know they are closed to public currently.
There's an exhibition with no details of art or artists? I found this very odd.
We waited to go on Monday as the gallery doesn't open on weekends and the toilets were not cleaned?
Visited the gift shop area which had a lot of gorgeous and diverse arts and crafts on display and for sale. Very informative chat with the staff there.
Fantastic experience and great to see school kids being taken through such an exciting exhibition.
This is a great space that's within the CBD of Adelaide. It has a huge gallery space and a theatre performance space.
A beautiful exhibition of over a hundred works by Mila Isabel, titled Rainbow Dreams is well worth a visit. Ask for a copy of the indigenous painting symbols to help "read" the landscapes embedded in delightful colours. Artwork and merchandise for sale - a delightful experience if you love our aboriginal art.
Tandanya is CLOSED. Don’t
bother to walk halfway across town like I did. I even checked their website and on the single page there, they state at least three times they are open but when I went on a Saturday afternoon, they were closed.
We had an amazing time here wandering around the gorgeous works of art. Had a great time chatting to the staff and ended up buying a pair of gorgeous original prints. We will most certainly return here!
Beautiful space, warm welcome at any time & amazing stories to enjoy - a huge asset to the State
Absolutely fantastic night Poems galore I enjoyed myself the entertainment was ecstatic. Bring on more.
Recommend always calling ahead to check opening hours as we were informed there are various closures to take down and install new exhibits!
Is not open. Travelled far to get here from Sydney - very disappointed. There is some level of responsibility to keep people informed otherwise you lose business.
Great venue embedded in the community. Tandanya has a great little cafe, beautiful artwork and an amazing range of gifts and art in the gift shop.
The cafe has a nice vibe and there is often live music to enjoy. It's affordable and good quality, often incorporating native foods into the menu.
Love Yabarra dreaming in light had an excursion scared me a little by the fact there's a rock that had a face but apparently someone cut it so whenever someone waters it, a pump of ACID is put in the ground. Other than that beautiful. Thunderstorm was very cool and Luckily the creator Karl was there, to explain what was going on
Tandanya just keeps getting better and better. Attended Yabbara during the Fringe and really appreciated the installation. The place to go to get a true historical and cultural background to our first nation peoples in South Australia and Australia
Tandanya has lost it's Sparkle something Special is needed in the space. I thoughly enjoyed the Dreaming Story Instelation & Comedy show. The shop & Cafe & Bar Patio definitely need a revamp. Entertainment Good but there's no atmosphere. Something is missing in the Space.
Tandanya is very special to Adelaide and is one of the best places to visit for insights and connections into culture.its a national cultural institution where you can see exhibitions of art, image, media and performance by Australian Aboriginal people and community groups, so it's always beautiful, educational and eye opening. Its also a place of collaboration for Aboriginal people and therefore a place for festivals, meetings and events.
Current exhibition is amazing! Should be a compulsory visit for everyone living in greater Adelaide
