Sussex Hotel reviews
61Great little pub that was in walking distance of the Adelaide Caravan park along the bike path. Excellent food and had several gluten free options. Highly recommend.
Just called in for a quick lunch and was very pleasantly surprised by the great attitude of the staff.very attentive and courteous.well done
Excellent service and great Chef special porterhouse steak with good demonstration and very tasty
Have been drinking there for nearly 60 years and current management seems intent on destroying culture of the pub.
Prices up, no contact with patrons, and not interested in regular customers.
Picked up some e-bikes from a customer and popped in for a drink. Friendly bar staff and a great bar, will be back:)
Sports bar but can’t watch the football there. Staff were rude when I asked if they had it. Sad.
We had dinner at Sussex Hotel Adelaide. It was not what we were expecting for pub food but hey it was amazing. Service was great and both our meals were truly delicious. The chef deserves credit as it was delicious i had the roasted chicken breast and my husband had the risotto yum. Thoroughly recommended.
Had a fabulous chicken schnitzel cooked to perfection and of gigantic proportion, very tasty and delicious! Great food, excellent staff and wonderful environment, especially the karaoke! Many thanks for the enjoyable evening, will be back, that's for sure! Keep up the good work, compliments to the chef!
Sirloin steak cooked as asked as medium but for $40 was tough, fatty and had excess grissle. Otherwise staff attentive
Small plate, huge portion size, food kept falling onto the table when I tried to cut anything
Best meal I have had in a long time Great food friendly and welcoming staff will definitely be coming back here again Highly recommend anyone reading this goes and gives themselves a great night out ️
First time here for Birthday dinner. Restaurant food was not very good at all. All the people in our group of 6 said their meal was not worth the money. Very young staff that appeared to not be enjoying their job very much. 3/10. No one from our group will be returning
I have only been once, unfortunately I probably won't go again. They only had one vegan option, which sounded promising but was disappointing. When I see mushroom burger, I generally expect a burger bun with mushroom as the "patty" and generally love seeing how different eateries dress it up. Unfortunately this mushroom burger used 2 mushrooms as the bun, with tofu and sauce/caramlised onion? And a salad on the side. The staff were super friendly and service was great, which is why I gave it a 3 star. We also waited about an hour for mains to come out.
We had a Brilliant bar tender Courtney that exceeded our expectations of a Great experience at the Sussex. THANKYOU Courtney
Nice surprise!
Haven't been there for years as it was a bit naff but now is rejuvenated and the menu is interesting. All my fellow diners enjoyed their choice of meal. Pleasant, helpful staff.
Lunch at the Sussex today 12/2/22, very impressed with the food. We had the lamb and a steak and both were cooked exactly as requested and meals were tender and tasty. Decor bright and happy in the restaurant, service was great.
We walked into this pub on the evening of the 8th March looking for somewhere to sit and have a quick bite to eat and drink. We had mask exemptions, so were not wearing them. The female staff at the cash register was rude and abrupt in the way she greeted us by immediately asking us where our masks were and that we’d have to put them on! Her manner was shocking. No welcome hello or welcoming feeling here. We felt attacked and un-welcomed, so we left and will never come back.
We don’t support pubs that discriminate!
Shame on you.
We left and went to the Walkers Arms which was MUCH BETTER at making us feel welcomed. We spent lots of money there due to this and will spread the word on our experience.
Enjoyed the meal staff were excellent, sad to hear been badly affected by covid restrictions. Another place to visit for a meal and a drink.
Superb selection of gin and matching accoutrements. Beef schnitzel with the special topping really went down a treat
