Suree's Thai Kitchen reviews
43 The food was fantastic. Unfortunately my wife and I made a mistake by eating in after ordering takeaway. I could tell that the manager wasn't happy with the change. We sat down and he gave us a menu but we said we would stick to the order, (2 x Pad Thai and a serve of spring rolls) plus a bottle of sparkling spring water. The meal was great but we couldn't finish it all and asked for takeaway from a waiter. All was good, the doggy bag came out and I mentioned that we haven't paid for the water, so he asked the manager who later came out asking for $30.00 extra. We questioned the amount given that we already paid $52.00 and his explanation was $10.00 for the water (750ml) and clearly $20.00 for the table service that apparently includes a surcharge for a Sunday. He should have said that there are extra charges for table service.
I don't mind paying for good food and good service but nearly $85.00 for 2 people without any alcohol seems a little steep.
We would have wanted to return with friends, but I don't think so now.
The food was exquisitely delicious, and the heat of the dishes were spot on.the air conditioning is good!
A bit disappointed. The food was tasteless except for my chicken Tom Yum… unsure whether it was authentic Thai food as the meal selections were different to what we were used to.
The food is good and the service is quite friendly generally. However, tonight I was disappointed that my friend and I were basically pushed out towards the end of the night. We didn’t arrive until 8, but as soon as we had finished our meal, the waiter kept coming to remind us the kitchen was closing soon and did we want anything else (he asked us this twice in the space of about 10 minutes and both times we said no). The second time he asked if he could bring the bill. We said ok, but we were deeply engrossed in conversation (bear in mind this was around 9.15 and the kitchen was closed anyway, and there were still several other tables still dining). 10 minutes later he came again, interrupted our conversation and asked if we were ready to pay. It very much felt we were being pushed out. I would understand if it was earlier in the night and they wanted to clear a table for other customers, but that was not the case. I now feel reluctant to return knowing that it is not a place we can relax and enjoy a conversation knowing we will be pushed out the minute we have finished eating. Suree Thai, please consider that a dining experience is not just about eating but about enjoying the atmosphere in the company of family or friends and feeling welcome in the restaurant, not just eating, paying and leaving.
The food was lovely as usual but this time the service at the end of the meal was hurried and rude, and was asked if we wanted the bill after being told three times the kitchen was closing by one particular waiter.
Great authentic Thai food.
Excellent service
Friendly staff “and owner” very welcoming and accommodating.
Will definitely return
Very traditions Thai foods. Nothing fancy, just a nice restaurant with plenty of options.
Some great Vege options and specials also. Good serving sizes.
We have frequented Suree Thai on a number of occasions over the 23 years or so we have lived nearby, both in a dine-in and take-away capacity.
Tonight we called the restaurant at about 7.45pm to order take-away, and were told the order would be ready "in about 25 minutes".
We requested that it be delayed a little, to be ready in 40minutes. The reply came "Ok we'll have it ready for you at 8.30".
We enjoy stir-fried food to be served as soon as it comes out of the wok, especially king prawns.
When we arrived at 8.20pm, happily expecting to wait a little, we discovered it had been sitting in a plastic bag "for about 5 minutes" we were told.
Reviews of restaurant service often include objections to food being served too slowly or too fast or seeming to have been sitting being kept warm etc. But when told we weren't happy, the response was "It's too hard to have food ready when the customer wants it " and "most customers don't care".
We would have preferred that when asked for 40 minutes instead of 25 minutes, they had rather replied something like "listen we'll cook when it suits us and we'll keep it hot for whenever you get here" which would have been more accurate, and we could have made an informed decision not to proceed with the order.
Perhaps we'll wait until ownership of Suree Thai is back in Thai hands before offering our custom in the future.
My family have lived in the area for many years and had never been to this restaurant. Last night we finally went and they did not disappoint!
Food came out very fast, generous serving sizes, at very reasonable prices, and the service was friendly, attentive and very helpful.
Highlights of the night were: yellow chicken curry, Thai fried rice (nice charred flavour), fried barramundi with the curry sauce and the pad thai (generous amount of prawns in there).
Perhaps avoid the golden pork, could have been more succulent for my liking, and the tofu salad, I just prefer the Malaysian style one over the Thai.
Highly recommend trying this restaurant and I will definitely be back to try more of the curries during winter time!
Lovely and tasty food. Our waiter Ming was attentive and provided great customer service. Food came out quickly.
This is a terrific little Thai restaurant in Adelaide. As a group of eight, we had a round table where we could all chat with each other. Ordering food was easy as it was full table service. As a couple, we ordered an entree of spring rolls and mains of chicken with cashew and a plate of Thai fried rice. One dessert was ordered of coconut ice cream. Food came out promptly after ordering and it was hot and delicious! Great service with friendly staff.
We were told to leave as soon as we finished dinner! Couple of staff kept coming back in turn every 3 minutes if we wanted to order more drinks and deserts.felt pressure so we asked if they're closing (it was just passing 9pm). They said yes to us, however there were still few tables filled with dinners eating and chatting. Food was average, entree soup wasn't hot enough.price soared up, staff rude, not coming back anymore.
Delicious food, I love the loved the spring rolls. Good selection of vegetarian and vegan options. Wait staff were not very good at welcoming us in, seemed inexperienced, manager seemed grumpy. It took them ages to pay attention to us to greet and seat us. Taking orders was not much better.
Forgettable experience average at best. Dishes were ok but nothing special. Price is very expensive for portion size and meals are very basic will not return
Great food at a reasonable price. Have to pick dishes that will survive the 30 minute drive after pickup and still taste great. Generally they pass with flying colours
Had an 8.30pm.booking. Food was lovely but got interrupted so many times by 2 employees during our meal that it spoiled the experience. Coming past and checking far too much even when not coming over to the table. I would not recommend dining her, but perhaps take away is best suited.
Yum! Suree’s is a great restaurant and they also provide a takeaway service if you are keen to eat excellent Thai food at home.
I honestly think this place is overrated. Food wasn’t too bad if you don’t take it as Thai food still the crispy barramundi we had was not fresh at all and wasn’t even crispy but chewy. For anyone looking for authentic Thai food, this is definitely not the right place in my opinion, most of the dishes taste like fusion southeast Asian dish not Thai. Disappointed. Waitresses were nice though.
Delicious authentic Thai, lots of vegan options and consistently good food. Usually busy too. I’ve been coming here for years but unfortunately their downfall is their service. It’s slow, I’ve had them forget to bring drinks out until the meal was finished, and not very friendly.
Ordered takeaway. Disappointed. Overall, food was bland and tasteless. Missing the aromatics traditional thai food has. Diluted flavours. Why was there tomatoes in the fried rice? Average food but not the traditional flavours.
