Stanley Bridge Tavern reviews
66Lovely spot to catch up with friends and enjoy some live music in the garden. Food and service wonderful. Will be back for sure
Genuinely shocked about level of customer service. Tried to make a booking over the phone and answer was they are fully book but can fit us in if we walk in. So after 40min drive we walked into the place which was not even 1/2 full. Tables everywhere and a person seems to be the team leader told us that we could sit down anywhere but wont be taking the order for 30mins as they are “FULL”. That doesn’t make any sense. Very rude and unprofessional service.
Can’t recommend to anyone!
Such an inconspicuous looking place from the road, but we went here on a recommendation. The food far exceeded our expectations. Very friendly service too. Definitely on our list of places to visit in the hills.
We stayed at AppleJack at Oakbank Airbnb and the host said to come to Stanley Bridge Tavern front bar and she was right. The atmosphere was fantastic. It was so authentic. We just loved it and the parmy was delicious.
Best place for a meal right near Hahndorf. Excellent Sunday lunch. Nice seating indoor or outdoors. Highly recommended.
Awesome place. We drive there all the way from semaphore. Great fresh food, definitely worth the drive.
We were here to celebrate my daughter's birthday. It was a very cool Spring evening and we were fortunate to get a table right beside the fireplace. The ambience was warm and cosy, service so friendly and professional, food AMAZING! Thank you, SBT staff. We cannot wait to return!
Great place to visit in summer, nice out area, good large meals and friendly staff, although I'm not sure if they were understaffed, as they kept forgetting our drink orders. Overall nice place.
Rang ahead as we hadn't booked and were nearby after a walk around Mt Lofty.
The staff were very pleasant and helpful on the phone and on arrival.
We asked if we could eat in the bar as opposed to the restaurant as it had a lovely open fire going.
The food was good, decent size portions and a huge drinks menu.
Being English it ticked all the boxes for a country pub lunch after a winter walk.
Service is what makes or breaks a pub business so well done, we thought all the staff were lovely.
Second visit today, this time in summer.
Hadn't booked, again, just took a chance. Extremely polite and helpful, and managed to find us a spot in the garden, not a drama for them at all even though it was very busy.
Food good again but as I said before, service is everything to a pub business and these guys are great.
Quickly becoming a favourite with us.
Well done.
We had a booking for 8 for dinner in the restaurant. The service from the young lady was first class. Very knowledgeable of the menu, specials and wines on offer. The food was fantastic. The lamb pie on the special menu was delicious. Fantastic evening. Thank You.
I had the fish and chips, I don't know what kind of fish it was but the texture was a bit mushy.
Our first experience of eating here, 8 meals only the burger and chips would we rate, menu sounded great but fell way short, $36.00 for 3 tiny pieces of over cooked fish on a bed of tomatoes ️restaurant prices for food cooked by take away cooks maybe.
All really good. Especially service. Great staff. Can recommend lamb rump. Beautifully cooked and presented. Outdoors are family friendly. Great venue.
Genuinely shocked.walked into the place which was 1/4 full. Tables everywhere. Told we could sit down BUT because we walked in we weren’t allowed to order for 30mins.
They had to let the recent booking arrivals order first. That doesn’t make sense at all. If you haven’t booked, don’t bother.
Lovely old pub with a very nice beer garden out the back. Had lunch in the beer garden and the umbrellas kept the sun off, creating a comfortable shady nook to enjoy the company of friends. The menu had a reasonable variety of items, was not overly expensive and came out quickly after ordering. Worthwhile checking out.
A great family pub. Extremely popular going by the full carpark for a weeknight. A large grassy beer garden to relax in whilst you can let the kids run around down the bottom away from the other punters, a large top room for big gatherings, cozy dining room and a traditional front bar to top it off. High quality meals come out from an extremely busy kitchen with a very minimal wait time. All the happy staff are very professional, personable, extremely friendly with service you can not fault even when they have punters almost hanging from the rafters on a weeknight. Great to see, well done boss! You won't be disappointed with this pub unless you're looking for the latter!
Had Sunday dinner here. The menu contained a good variety of dishes to suit all tastes, plus a specials board. This, along with the pleasant, attentive staff and great atmosphere made for an excellent time. Recommended.
Dining with my partner, I asked when booking whether we could sit near the fire and this request was granted. Staff were attentive on arrival and throughout our visit. I had a steak which was cooked to perfection and my partners dish was yummy also in her words but can't recall exactly what it was. Will be back another time.
We had a family lunch in celebration of newborn, 50th birthday silver wedding Golden Wedding and a birthday. The restaurant was very busy but this did not affect the service and standard of food all of which everyone enjoyed. One of our party has restaurants of his own and was impressed. Thank you.
Excellent pub for Sunday lunch with friends. Go the Schnitty, but everything was great looking tucker. Washed down with a couple of Coopers Extra Stout. Yeah!
