Standom Smallgoods

Good, old times for Standom are gone for good. Still remember tasty smallgoods and fresh meats reasonably priced.
Last week we've bought some pork ribs, that were stinking the very next day. Brought it back to the shop but we couldn't get our money back.
So my advice to all shoppers is CHECK THE QUALITY OF THE MEATS IN THE SHOP!

Produce is spectacular, customer service is spectacular, and most importantly the hot dogs are delicious.

This place is seriously awesome, always polite and kind and fast workers. Food is fresh and tasty and they’ll give u free taste tests if you’d like.

Great local continental shop and butcher. Large selection of small goods and mustards, pickles, sauerkraut, sprats etc etc. This shop makes a great shopping companion to the great markets next to it on Sundays so you can get your fruit n veg and meat in one area. They also have some hot food - usually pork crackle rolls ready to go.

I love their smallgoods. Always good quality. They also handed a great selection of European delicacies such as sauerkraut, dill pickles, pickled beetroot etc. The staff are always friendly and helpful.

Great place, good staff & a good variety of products, but I do wonder why they use imported pork for their bacon/speck, when we have such great quality pork here in SA. Its a pity that they use imported pork & am unimpressed with that, surely they could use local, australian pork.

Excellent hotdog, roll was superb blend of butter mustard and tomato sauce definitely go there again.

Staff is so friendly. Great variety of smallgoods and meats. Clean and social distancing measures in place. We go there regularly.

Not happy. Visited about 2.30 pm. Asked about the pork that was on the 2 signs outside.
Lady laughed at me, said we sold out of that early this morning, and a lot of people have been in trying to buy. I thought why don’t you rub it off your outside signs if you have sold out? Isn’t that false advertising? I asked the lady for two of the dearer pork chops, I turned around and she had gone? Male employee walked around from the other counter and stood behind the counter and asked me what I wanted. I said I already told the lady what I wanted, where had she gone. He said she’s gone out the back to talk to the boss on the phone? Not a happy customer here. To walk off after I told her what I wanted was poor service. Then I had to explain to the young man what I wanted again.
Turned out the pork with paprika rub was tough as well as the poor service.
Not happy.

This place was right across the car park from whet I stayed, Ibis. Great selection and friendly knowledgeable staff
