St Louis reviews
50Spend 80$, received two glass of room tep milk with scoop on ice-cream dumped & melt, hot as a summer day! Pancake wasn't fresh at all, cream sauce was too old tasted off & savour! Bad service.
Totally enjoyed our ice creams and milkshakes with wonderfully lots of varieties to chose from. The staff were so warm and friendly. Highly recommend this place.
A very nice place to relax and finish an evening out with friends. We had some beautiful San cheerios and coffee
All the staff forgot to update their online menu and instore menu. Made three orders in a row, but none got through because most desserts were sold out. Was told to update my orders for a few times, which was very annoying.
*A must-eat gelato ceiling in Australia*
In addition to the left ice cream, there are many other desserts, and the ice cream can be tasted before buying, so you can buy it first
Gelato AUD$8.00 @ 2 scoops
upgrade Coated waffle cone +$1.80
Blackberry Sorbetto & Hazehut
Hazelnut is super fragrant and creamy, and sorbet is so fresh and refreshing The two eat together and balance each other. It’s really super positive
Such a nice place to take my family, the food is always so delicious and prepared with care
Lovely customer service on a windy wet night 10 mins before closing time. Some other places would have closed early or told me to buzz off. Great ice cream for an out of state visitor on a different time zone!
To serve and craft with such precision under pressure is a talent that deserves recognition and reward.
I have seen some reviews that criticise the staff for being lazy, but that was not my experience on Sunday Night on the 4th June 2023.
After eating a delicious Succulent Chinese Meal on the other end of Gouger Street, my friend and I were still hungry for some desert and he felt like some waffles and I immediately thought about this place, as I had been before years ago but honestly forgot my experience back then - I just knew this place as the place that makes fancy tasty desserts.
Upon arriving I see that this joint is very busy even for a lazy Sunday Night in Adelaide, and yet the two workers there are able to perform their jobs under such busy conditions with a joyful demeanour.
My friend’s attention is caught by a Strawberry Nutella Crepe being eaten by another customer, so he decides to order that instead with a Dirty Chai. I order an Espresso on Ice with a Triple Scoop Ice Cream Combo of Bueno, Cookies and Cream and Cafe.
The food comes quickly with a smile, and despite the busy nature of the restaurant I am still impressed at how beautifully immaculate the presentation is, especially the Crepes. The sweets tasted delicious too - this coming from person that prefers savoury foods over sweets.
To serve and craft with such precision under pressure is a talent that deserves recognition and reward. Great work St Louis!
Wow the staff are so dedicated and happy to fulfil any requests im impressed good work sophie mate
The desserts we got were too overpriced ($20 each) for the quality. The waffles were too stiff and the crepes also a bit stiff and dry. But as usual the gelato on the desserts were great.
The staff in this store is the most lazy. We consistently have the worst experiences despite being regular customers of St. Louis. At 10: 20 p.m. When they close at 12 a.m, we placed an order using door dash. “Our kitchen closed at 10: 30 p.m”, the store informed us when we called to enquire about the status of our order. It is absurd for a kitchen to close one and a half hours before closure. We have received notifications that the kitchen is closed an hour before closing time on numerous occasions in the past. As Norwood, Mawson Lakes and North Adelaide are likely the greatest, this is hardly the best depiction of the St. Louis brand. We've never been satisfied with the Gouger Street Store, and we would really like to see consistency across all stores.
WORST CHURROS EVER
For sure this compagny can run because they might (100% sur) only mix water and flour for making their churros (which is very expensive 11$ for 3 pieces) at least just use some eggs.this not so expensive
This cheap composition is making very oily when you frie it and eat it, you almost can drink it, I felt very bad, not a plaisir at all.
For having it in France and in Spain it's WAY FAR FROM THE EUROPEAN TASTE
Coffee machine and kitchen closed at 9.45 pm, closing time is 11pm. Tea was also an issue because the coffee machine had been switched off!
Ordered churros and late
Churros 5/10 (too sweet, oily)
Late 4/10 (burnt taste)
Service was good tho
Fix your kitchen closing times! Always lazy workers who don’t want to cook saying kitchen is closed even when it’s still 2+ hours till closing time. This has happened 5 times now. Fix them.
Went there at 11: 45 and they said they were shut when they shut at 12am. All of the staff were on their phone
This place used to be SO GOOD back in the day (pricey, yes, but worth it) so I thought it was a safe bet for brunch whilst visiting Adelaide. Not sure if it's a side effect of St Louis having so many branches nowadays but the experience was like night and day to what it used to be - dirty tables, waitresses that seemed more interested in chatting to each other than serving customers, lukewarm hot chocolate, and a brunch crepe that had almost no filling.
Legitimately such a shame.
I was very impressed, the Gelato is probably the best I've tasted, I had a hot chocolate and it was perfect, not too sweet and no bitterness, came with two marshmallows and melty chocolate around the rim of the cup just perfect. The wife had a Lemon Lime & Bitters and said it was beautiful, we also had the Churros for two with an extra of wild strawberry Gelato, all in all a fantastic desert treat for two people for less than $40. We have spent more for less at other places. The table QR code for ordering is a fantastic idea didn't even have to get up and swipe my card, love it.
Had the Chocolate Bueno Waffle and it was ok, a bit too sweet even without the cup of melted chocolate. Definitely need more strawberries on the side to balance the sugary sweetness of the waffle and chocolate.
Their St Louis flavored ice cream is my favorite flavor anywhere and they make the best churros! Hot chocolate is amazing as well.
Cakes can be hit and miss even though they look spectacular. I always go to a St Louis if there's one around on a hot day for their ice cream.
