Spear Creek Caravan Park reviews
56Amazing spot nestled at the foot of the ranges. So beautiful, lovely shady quiet camping spots. Loved the farm to plate lamb sausages, hike and ferry lights in the dining area.
Cabins are a bit tired but clean and comfy but great place didn't get to try the salt bush lamb lots of wildlife bearded dragons some quite tame bobby lizards right under the cabin big amount of wild goats kangaroos beautiful parrots rosellas kookaburras it was amazing great walking tracks some of the hills are quite steep to walk up 14 of family members and the kid's absolutely loved it age 2 to 13 OH. By the way it's DOG friendly
Pet friendly, lots of walking trails, great sunsets, friendly staff and great prices for salt bushed lamb.
Would go there again.
Absolutely beautiful holiday park - booked in here last minute on a whim during a road trip and it ended up being our favourite stay of the trip
Travel Auction purchase
Great place to relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings, staff were great and had a sense of humour. Great sunset look out, and met some great travellers that wanted to chat about there travels.
We were in a caravan. Amenities were old but clean. There are two toilet blocks. Location is perfect 10/10
Dropped in for an overnight stay, left 5 days later, enough said, big, flat, grassy sites all with fire pit, great walks, sunsets & sunrises & the lamb projects direct from the farm are as good as it gets.well worth the 15k diversion off the highway
First time for us with caravan. Never new it was there until advertised on Travel Auction. Been there for many years and very popular as we found out with the amount of traffic coming and going. Typical rustic bush caravan and camping. Very friendly staff. Had a great time with plenty of walks available.
Wow! Honestly such an amazing place that I will recommend to everyone. I’ve been here a few times now but this was my first time being a bit older and independent, visiting with just my boyfriend. We instantly both commented on how nice the staff were. Sam specifically looked after us for the three nights we were there. We were so insanely grateful for her service and the ways she offered to help us out with our stay. Honestly the best person I’ve ever dealt with at any campground/park. The facilities are all amazing, even more than you need while camping. All kept so well maintained. We stayed in the shearer’s quarters which was lovely. A bit more luxurious than our previous tent. Very clean and set out well, in a lovely spot too. The camp spots all look like they’re in beautiful spots. So much wildlife to see on the walks too which was great. Overall could not have asked for a better stay honestly! Will be coming back as soon as we can with our families. Thank you so much, especially to Sam!
Amazing place, pet friendly, beautiful scenery, life time memories made here. Close to Pt Augusta.
Gorgeous setting, lovely staff. Cabins have all the basic needs at a very affordable price (though bathroom plumbing could do with a little check/update). Very much want to come back with time to explore.
TOTALLY DISAPPOINTED!
My wife booked an unpowered site & we drove 4 hrs to get there we were going to celebrate my birthday in our camper, When we arrived & AFTER i paid for the site i was told they had moved us to a different location, we checked the location but it wasent near the toilets ect & there was no shade which we specifically asked for, I asked the owner for a refund to which i got told its against thier policy to give refunds. So we turned around & made the 4 hr trip home, If your planning a trip away DO NOT make a booking there, They are only interested in taking your money & nothing else! Im only giving 1 star because i had to put something down to post this comment.
Great place very friendly owners and the fresh lamb is absolutely amazing taste so good.wish I could stay longer and the sunset at the top of the hill is amazing and the toilets and showers facilities are very clean
What a gem! We booked a non-powered site and we’re pleasantly surprised at the generous space! A small walk from the main facility block but we had a toilet nearby our hush camp. Hard ground so tent was difficult to peg so come prepared with heavy duty pegs and some patience. Far off the main road, quiet, and plenty of shade and shelter. We will definitely be back!
Have to also agree Rustic settings.
Friendly staff.
Pet friendly.
Amenities old but work well.
Camp kitchen good.
Lovely little bush camp ground and really attentive owners keen to spread the word about their site. Nice little rustic camp kitchen that was fully equipped and likewise, the shower block had a rural feel but offered a nice clean shower with good hot water (the showers into the main kitchen block a little more hit and miss so my wife tells me!). So much better to stay here than in Port Augusta.truly relaxing country feel (and no need for barbed wire fences!). We didn't get time to do any of the walks into the hills but it looked great. They had some good basics and even their own lamb in their little shop/ reception. Great spot overall if heading to or from the Flinders or Eyre Pen. Recommend it
Great place for an off the beaten track camping experience. Great views, stunning gum trees. Lots of freedom for kids. All the necessary facilities.
Beautiful, natural setting in the foothills near Port Augusta. Great bushwalking on site. Camo kitchen and good clean facilities.
Very Nice place to stay. Completely isolated from City life with all amenities. Rooms/toilets were very clean. Very economical. Ample space for parking. You can buy wood for bonfire on-site. Lamb chops are also available to buy from their office which closes by 6: 00pm. Overall a good place to stay for 1-2 nights
Great caravan park nestled amongst the gum trees at the foothills of the southern Flinders Ranges. Good sites, both powered and unpowered. We stayed in one of the Shearer's quarters which is pet friendly. It is very basic but it was clean and the bed comfortable. Amenities and camp kitchen a short walk. There are also cabins and dorm rooms for school groups. Staff friendly and they sell a frozen selection of their own lamb. Great spot and highly recommended.
