Space Theatre reviews
19Easy to find as part of the Dunstan Playhouse. Close and intimate theatre seating, and its flexibility means the stage can be surrounded, or set in a corner etc. Bar available, tea, coffee and snacks. Drink allowed (but not food) in the theatre.
Nice space for a show. But I think they need bigger tables as if you would be going to a Cabaret show
There is only an open floor (no tiers) and a single narrow balcony offering one layer of upper viewing front and two sides. Not a big venue by any means, but good for many events. Bar & loos just outside the doors.
This was a marvelous performance and the children absolutely loved the show. Lots of laughter and
Brillant versatile performance space, puts the audience very close to tje actors. Pity the seating is uncomfortable
A fabulous theatre, not too big, not too small. Just right! A good atmosphere and helpful and kind staff.
First visit to this small theatre and it was a good experience. Performance was The Deep South and thoroughly enjoyable. The theatre has a small bar with coffee and alcohol available.
Looking a little tired since the last time I visited. Overall, a great and intimate experience.
Good but the ramp to get in and out of the space theatre are to far. (if you got a baby or a walking aid) not so friendly.
Went along with my daughter and her kindergarten. Great fun for the whole family.highly recommend having a look.
I did an amazing workshop with GOM there. It was an experience of a life time. I am so lucky to have been working in such a wonderful place.
Some of the chairs are in need of attention especially if children are going to sit on them, the staff were friendly and production was good.
Euphoria was absolutely brilliant. Having to wear a mask at the same time as footy fans watched the Showdown is totally unfair and disproportionate. Fans yell and scream all through the match which potentially spreads covid droplets over a large area. Don't forget the origin super spreader event in Italy last year was a football match. STC needs to seriously challenge this.
My favourite theatre at the festival centre and the nestled home of the more contemporary stuff there
Wheelchair accessible seating isn't the best, but the staff make up for it with doing everything possible to make sure you have a great time/feel welcome.
Everything being rebuilt and refreshed at the moment. So some patience needed. Loved the show, love "our Theatre"
I like this theatre, makes a change from the plush Dunstan. Feels like you should be sitting on benches. Haven't been to a play that really uses the 2-sided audience, but you certainly get a choice of what level to view the performance at
'Black box' style intimate theatre space that allows for multiple configurations and seated arrangements for around 400pax. Great room for cabaret and music.
