Something Wild reviews
12I come here often and am mostly really happy with my purchases. Don't buy a rabbit though. Nearly $30 per kg and tough as nails! I love the venison steaks and emu snags. However, the young guy working is always obsessed with his phone while customers wait at both counters time and time again. CoooEeee!
I love coming here to try something different - venison salami, camel chorizo, smoked buffalo sausages, smoked wallaby, native gin garnishes, crocodile dumplings, wild boar ham at Christmas. Their sausages are amazing. I regularly buy my kangaroo here. Plus you can buy locally made gin and vodka. Staff are always helpful and happy to answer any questions.
My husband and I got some crocodile sausages and buffalo patties today. I poached the sausages for 5 min then put them in the oven at 190 for ten, OMG they tasted amazing! My husband really liked the buffalo patties too! We can't wait to come back and try the venison and the croc tail steak. I absolutely recommend this stall! There's native condiments and herbs for sale here, also wild boar which I've never seen anywhere else.
Been in here a few times. One of my favourite places. The buffalo, crocodile and venison are really nice. Come here when I can. Good job. Come here for all our meat
Absolutely fantastic tasting Roo jerky
Great owner to have a chat with and you'll find something wild
Until next time Adelaide
Love the exciting variety of uncommon meats and produce. Always a treat and I highly reccomend their Camel and their Goat Sausages!
Absolutely fabulous produce! Always delicious, top quality and fresh. The staff are always helpful and I love their cooking suggestions and advice. This store has ignited a passion to use native ingredients in all aspects of cooking! A must visit for all!
Incredible "Platinum Savoury Grazing Platter".
It was the talk of the town amongst our midwives!
From green ant feta, native greens, to kangaroo metwurst.
High quality ingredients, flavour, and presentation.
And they were incredibly accommodating and did the platter under a short time frame.
I'll be back!
:)
If you're looking for Indigenous foods that are near impossible to find in Adelaide, Something Wild is the place to go. A little known fact about them is that they supply the indigenous ingredients to Orana Restaurant, rated one of the top 50 restaurants in the world and Australia's Restaurant of the Year.
From Something Wild I have been able to purchase finger limes, whole bush tomatoes, quandongs, samphire, karkalla, whole kakadu plums, whole Illawarra plums, Ribberies, Green Ants (not the gin) and a wide range of other indigenous Australian foods.
Off meat two times in the last 3 months. I'll never go back. Annoyed and disappointed purchased 12 hours beforehand and it was virtually green meet.
I am proud of you and your work because of clean and close. But can I find work for my husband when you have a chef and a butcher and can cut meat of all kinds and chicken and swallow it with any kind and can do burger and kebabs and everything if I can find work for my husband with you please if work exists Emily you write to me thanks
Fabulous customer service from lara today. Bent over backward finding a solution to our needs tho it was only a $5 sale to the business. Wouldn't recommend any other game meat supplier.
